Phil Switzer is a 37 year old Information Technologies professional. He has 15 years of experience with computers, computer networks, and the applications that are delivered on said networks. He began his computer experience in the U. S. Navy in 1985 where he reached the rank of Electronics Technician second class while working on satellite communications systems. After his hitch in the navy, Phil returned to his home town of Bakersfield, CA. where he went to work for Carney’s office equipment as a Customer Engineer working on various electronic apparatus including computers, facsimile machines, and printers. Phil worked at Carney’s until 1995 where he had reached his maximum potential at that position and went to work for the Kern Community College District in a network administrator capacity until 1995. In 1996 Phil went to work for Paramount Farms Inc. (PFI) where he became proficient at the Microsoft Windows NT operating system and the Microsoft Exchange Server platform. Phil reached the position of IT supervisor while working at PFI until an enticing opportunity opened up at a sister company, Paramount Citrus Association (PCA). While working at PCA Phil was able to obtain comprehensive knowledge of fiber optic network wiring installation and implementation. He also became proficient at the Lucent Technologies Difinity 75 Enterprise Communication Server platform. In 2000 Phil finally obtained the position he had be striving for: Information Technologies Manager at Castle & Cooke Inc. He is department head with a staff of eight application engineers and network administrators. He now has his Bachelor of Science in Information Technologies and is hoping to someday become CIO at a major corporation. Mr. Switzer holds many certifications in Microsoft Applications. |
