Heh heh heh... just another blabbing section...to fill this website up. :)
Well, you might have read Kougaiji's version of how he introduced me to GLAY at my GLAY website, but this is MY version!
Er-hem! I know no one's gonna read this... ah! What the hell! Go for broke!
Anyway, he came back from England, asking me to listen to this band, Japanese band that produced a really nice song. I heard it, waiting patiently. I thought it was okay on the first listen. Just okay.
The second time he asked me to listen was just before a family gathering. I listened carefully this time and I fell in love. Even though it was time to eat, I refused to go down until the song ended. By that time, my brother was grinning from ear-to-ear. I was smiling as well, saying how great the song was...
How great the singer WAS *note: I used past tense because Kougaiji told me they are a really old band and they've probably broken up*. I had fallen in love with the singer.
The way he carried the song. The way he sang the first verse so beautifully, sweetly crooning in my ear words which I couldn't understand but was sure they had meaning so deep. His voice resounded in my ear. A memorable voice.
I insisted my brother PLAY that song every night at least five times. I would prance around the couch, with him looking amused.
Not long after, we were headed out of town. A chance to find GLAY! At first I was nuts over Crazy Town, but listen to the scenario.
I didn't have trouble finding Crazy Town but my brother excitedly pulled me when I was at the counter. He said he found GLAY! Reluctantly, I bought the GLAY DRIVE. My mother reluctantly paid for it, $62!!!!!
I like Japanese things. I gave them a chance. I fell in love with Yuuwaku, BELOVED, HAPPINESS, BE WITH YOU and the song that started it all : Haru Wo Aisuru Hito. I always listened to those. Crazy Town? Totally ignored!
My brother searched for them on the net and ka-pow! They are still together!!! We screamed *well, I screamed* when we found out that it was four guys, not two guys and two girls!!! *gomen nasai Hisashi and Jiro!* Grrrr... my misleading brother!
Naturally, I fell in love with other GLAY songs and... Teru. I saw him in the GLAY DRIVE and fell in love. I just KNEW he was the singer. I love his deep and husky voice which can actually hit pretty high notes. And in my opinion, you are a good singer if you can do these things : sing with passion, sing with feeling and sing to make people feel happy. I think he does all these things very well. To top it off, he's good-looking. I won't deny I like him partly because of that as well!
Date when I discovered them? March 2001. Explains the address, huh? Little Lovebirds? A Teru composed & written song, my favourite.
Thanks to those who read this weird section. I hope it didn't bore you to death!
ARIGATOU!!!!
