Chapter 10: Attack at Water's Edge
Since having the dream, Sakura knew that it should be kept a secret until she had solved what she would do. She remembered fragments of some sort of darkness that had invaded Meili before and now she was in the library, searching.
Running her pale hand through the library's shelves, it stopped in a section that was dusty, dry and cold. Walking down the eerie aisle she stopped. Somehow, she looked up and on the tallest shelves; she saw a book on Meili's history. It looked ancient and by the looks of it, were ages since anyone had turned its pages.
Drawn to the book, she twisted herself, reaching up and picking at it until it came from its permanent place in the shelf. As she reached up, waiting for the book to fall into her arms, a stray wind blew, twisting around her, bringing a foul voice.
"You will fail, bringing misery to all�" it echoed, bringing chills up her shoulders and twirling all around her. Forgetting about the book, she wrapped her arms around her self as if hoping that it would somehow get rid of the voice that echoed it her mind.
Emerald eyes glistening, they darted around looking around for the person who was causing such havoc to the Card Mistress.
The forgotten book, which was tilting towards the ground, fell. Causing a huge bang to go through the library. Startled, the Card Mistress, picked up the book from the dusty floor.
Her eyes were caught on the page it had landed on. It was about Lyornes, the ruler of Meili at that time.
On it was an illustrated picture, of an elfin lord, dressed as if he was about to go hunting. Fit and wise, his silver eyes unnerved all who looked at his magnificent face. Sakura trembled, for the picture was drawn so that the lord looked almost real. Shaking her head, mentally scolding herself for being partially scared of a picture, she started to read.
Lord Lyornes, Meili's Final Ruler
Before the Lord Lyornes died, he made a prophecy. Many believe that the prophecy was linked to the disappearance of the ethereal Ying and Yang necklace.
In darkness and a time of despair
Fear and war will scar my land
Creatures will fade while
Men will establish clans
Become leaderless as a nation
But in a century's time
Two will be born
One a girl as pure as light it self
While the other a boy of darkness and hatred
Bond together to once again create Meili
To become a promised land
Many have forgotten this legacy, but all has questioned the ying and yang necklace. It is just a pure myth in the eye of most.
The necklace was shaped in a circle, life going in a circle, rebirth and death the same and a sort of everlasting life. Inside, there were two elements. Darkness and Light was the key to balance in the Universe. Also two of the same elements dotted in their opposite beings. Bound by a silver chain, it was a strange key to Lord Lyornes's wonderful golden age.
But here lies the greatest mystery. Before the Lord died, the great necklace disappeared from his form, and disappeared from history.
Sakura, shaking her head, closed the book. On the front of the great tome, was the date that all the history was based on. She gaped, as a thought registered.
"It's almost been a century, only two days left."

Sitting on the wooden swing, swaying gently, she was a picture of brokenness and fragility, the cherry blossom petals fell and spun all around her as the breeze blew them around.
(Flashback)
She was safe in his arms, even if he had a reputation of mercilessly killing many, breathing in his unique scent of autumn and spices. It was raining once again, but this time it was too heavy for any activity outside so the two of them were curled up on the couch, legs entwined, Sakura's head on his warm chest and Syaoran's on her forehead.
Lifting her head with his fingers, he traced a line along her jaw, smiling warmly before dropping his warm lips on hers. She moaned as his kiss became a bit more passionate. He chuckled as she pulled back, her eyes keeping all his attention on her.
They were lying on Sakura's cherry blossom bed, as the rain pattered down hard. He started kissing her eyelids, nose, cheeks and face. She sighed in bliss. She returned his soft kisses, before it got a bit more passionate.
Tongues twisting, twirling, hands caressing until they parted panting heavily.
Turing his face away from her, Syaoran said, "I got carried away,"
Pulling his face back, she kissed him again.
"I want this," was all she said before she started unbuttoned his shirt, sliding it off him, playing with his firm muscles. He moaned before crushing her to him as he worked to remove her top.
They made love that day, as the rain pattered down on the roof and the wind blew around the house.
(End of Flashback)
Clutching her slim stomach, she knew the truth. Though it had been around 2 months, she knew that she was pregnant with Syaoran's child. Their love child. No one had noticed for she had kept away and all of the clan was busy with oncoming danger. Knowing that her child had a slim chance to live if she went to war, she was worried but she often disappeared to here where no could bother her.
She was vastly worried, worried for the clan, worried for her child, worried for herself and worried for him. She wanted him here. Wanted him to stop all the attacks. Wanted him to know that she was pregnant with his child.
'Mistress?' called Silver Star, who had mourned for her mate like Sakura. She, unlike Sakura had a connection with him, and that connection was dark and painful when she tried to reach out to him.
The dragon landed near her mistress, and Sakura embraced her as they both acted in their own way of mourning.
Fiery landed on Sakura's shoulder, casting a blind eye on their mourning, cried.
"Sakura, you are needed now! The darkness is getting closer, and is at River Raven! Gold Ridge cannot hold out for long!"
OMG! Sakura is PREGNANT!! Chapter 11!
