Disclaimer:I don't own CCS, Clamp does. Don't sue! Um, this story has Silver Star and Fiery as substitutes for Yue and Kero. I never stole any ideas from the stories of Pern.

Thanks for all the reviews!!!! Now onto the next chapter!

Mystical Ying and Yang

Chapter 8: A Prophetical Dream

Sitting on his moss-covered stone bed, the hermit sat there praying and lighting incense to the gods. Smiling softly while breathing in the incense and the crisp fresh air from the cottage window, he slowly stroked his rinnix.

The rinnix, an ice bird and the mortal enemy of the phoenix. It also had the ability to live of a thousand years until in one day it becomes totally ice and slowly melts. But then out of the melted water, a small rinnix appears.

Then as the old hermit got onto his mossy bed, he sighed as his creaking old bones and thin clothes made him feel all the more tired. The iciness of the bird didn't help either. Closing his eyes, he drifted off into a deep slumber.

His dream started. A blood red sky with a dark figure standing. Then darkness spread all over Meili. Even in his unconscious state, the hermit knew that this was not right. Watching the darkness spread from the figure's body, he couldn't seem to wake up. Anything the darkness touched withered and died. But as all this destruction and chaos rolled on, he saw in the distance a spark of the purest light. It seems to pierce him and then he was able to wake up.

Pushing himself up from that horrific nightmare, he found that he was sweating profusely. Knowing that he must rush to the nearest dragon clan, he woke his rinnix and grabbed his hiking stick. Then embarking in the middle of the night, he left his part of the wood and ventured into the world he had tried to leave. For not only was he a hermit, he was a prophet.

The noise quietened down as a maid was sent to Sakura. As all the headmen watched, Sakura heard the maid out. Then thanking the girl, she announced the unexpected news to the waiting men.

Despite being heartbroken for the whole week, including refusing food for three days, she was back on track with the clan matters. In fact, here she was listening to all the chatter that the men were making. Letting the rock cavern sound with silence, she stood up.

"I must attend to matters at hand. Discuss nothing while I am gone," she said, bowing to them and exiting the cavern.

Walking out of the room, she shook her head as she heard the soft murmuring of the clan men, whispering about her and her condition. The reason she had left them was because she knew that if she were to stay, the visitor that had called in would have had to wait for hours. The clan men were likely to argue about politics for days, leaning their more physical members to become bored and irritated easily. Knowing that this was her most likely chance of getting out of a most prolonged meeting, she headed to her study. The maid had mention something about an old man who had requested to see her, only her.

Entering, she quickly closed the door and sat down, watching the old man stroke his bird. While waiting for the man to tell her what he was here for, she took in his appearance. Long robes, a worn stick, just right for hiking and travelling distances, a bag crammed full of seemingly herbs and a long white beard covered the intelligent look about him. She knew what type of man this was. Her father had introduced them to her many a time but she had been too polite to know one. But now that a prophet sat in front of her, she was all business. For as she knew, prophets were solitary people, seeking out social causes when only the utmost need be. Usually when danger and evil were in the future.

Knowing that the young leader was studying him he stroked Ice, seeing her through his wrinkled old eyes. Finally, done with the stroking, he turned to the young maiden. Closing his eyes, he reached his hand and placed it on her warm forehead. Then letting his magic flow, he passed his knowledge to her.

A bit startled, she closed her eyes. She had met prophets, talked to them, but never had to experience this strange sensation. It felt like she was asleep but totally aware that the image that was starting was no dream. She saw in the prophet's eyes.

Then the bond was cut. Standing, the prophet let his rinnix perch on his shoulder and bowed. Standing up too, Sakura put on a mask to disguise her fear, bowing to the prophet and then let him go. Then sitting back down, she let her mask fall. The prophet had showed her worse fears. Syaoran had been that dark figure. Shaking freely, she rang her bell. Then as the bell summoned a clan member, she knew she had to do something.

She had to hold a council of war. Many lives could be in danger, creatures and humans alike. All the clans had to be informed and all of Meili should be forewarned. Dark days were coming and Sakura did not like what she saw.

In the hubbub of the room, there were many voices claiming to be heard. For you see, Sakura had called all of her clan. The riders, the elderly, young and the creatures. Until, Sakura yelled, in mind and voice. Then silence reigned as the all listened to their young leader.

"PLEASE, Please, please," Sakura yelled as she tried to calm everyone down.

"We have a predicament on our hands," she said, not as loud since the crowd had calmed down.

"A prophet came to me today, showed me a dream of his," she said.

Then she sent the prophet's dream to all who could receive it. Dragons and those who had telepathy passed it onto those who didn't know. Finally, when everyone had realised what the dream meant, Sakura spoke again.

"We MUST take action,"

Then she started to give orders.

"Older women and men, bring in the crops and harvest including all our vegetables, meat and fruit. Store them, dried, smoked salted or preserved. We may need them later on."

"Anyone who is not a dragon rider, communicates with other creatures or any use in battle, you must collect all of your belongings and we must evacuate. Please help all of your family and friends."

"Everyone else, follow me," she said, heading towards the war-chamber, room enough for five thousand.

As she moved quickly through the stone corridors, many of the following approached her. Answering none of their questions, she entered the war chamber and sat at the head. As she waited, while the others following sat and Tomoyo and Eriol sat at her right and left, she stood.

Grimly, Sakura knew many lives might be lost if things weren't done quickly. Turning towards her fellow people, she addressed them like a commander to his troops.

"Friends, fellow clan members and assorted people from whereabouts, who out of all of you are the quickest in getting where be needed?" she asked them.

Few stood, saluting her, pledging their allegiance and spoke their info.

Acknowledging them, she identified them.

Ray Theas, Titan John's partner. (Remember him?)

Marcus Brown, Diamond Flame's partner. (One of Syaoran's clan members)

Eriol Hiragizawa, Copper Medal's partner.

There were few others, but she knew they were not as good as these three. Higher ranking dragons, were much more enduring, so they got good mates, had a faster ability to catch them and had the flexibility to move around other dragons with out colliding.

"You three, Ray, Marcus and Eriol, must embark on a journey to inform the rest of Meili. Go to all the clans, villages and all other signs of civilization. Inform all, of this dream. Now, go swift and may your journey be peaceful," said Sakura, nodding to the three as they were dismissed.

"Now all we have to do is to prepare and wait," she murmured to the rest of the people in the chamber, as she sat back down.

Prepare for war! Chapter 9!
