Mystical Ying and Yang
Chapter 1: A New Leader
Six years had passed and the whole clan had gotten use to a young girl with a phoenix on her shoulder. Touya and Yukito, Touya's friend, had decided to become rangers. Since the accident of Nadeshiko's death, the boys of the clan had been sent out as rangers all over the clan's land and skies.
Nadeshiko had been flying on her mount when all of a sudden; her scout had been shot down by a bunch of harpies. Trying to rescue the poor scout, viewers had seen her being dragged out of Sapphire Moon's back. A roc had carried her off to a distant land where there was no hope of her coming back. Sapphire Moon had died two days later, showing that her partner had died.
Pining for his wife, Fujitaka didn't have the spirit to continue on a clan leader and so he summoned Sakura to his bedchamber. Upon entering her father's chambers, she noted that he was pale.
"You summoned me, father?" she said formally.
"My dear, I will die shortly, and after I leave this world to join your mother, I would like you to lead this clan. You have a good heart and a strong mind. Silver Star and Fiery will advise you." Breathed Fujitaka as the hand Sakura held slipped down.
"Good Luck, my daughter" whispered Fujitaka, as he closed his eyes and fell into the underworld.
"Father!!!!!!! Father!!!!!! Don't go!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!" sobbed Sakura, shaking her father and weeping profusely.
After wiping her tears and willing herself to be strong, she stood and went to inform the crowd outside about the deceased leader.
" My father, Fujitaka has now passed on and appointed me as the Kinomoto Clan's new leader," stated Sakura, head held high.
Silence all through the crowd and finally a cheer rang the caves' walls.
Smiling through unshed tears, Sakura declared "Do not worry, Silver Star and Fiery will advice me in problems. If any of you need my help in problems, affairs and disputes, just come to me. I will willing hear you out."
And so Sakura became leader of the Kinomoto Clan.

Two Years Later�
Fleeing from her lovesick suitors, Sakura dashed into her room. Yelling to Silver Star in her mind, she showered and then changed into her riding gear. Taking a look at her room, she stopped at her only family picture that the famous artist, Darien Fakir had painted for a high price. Under a blooming cherry tree, her whole family and herself were smiling. Tears streamed down her whole face as she called Silver Star and Fiery through mind-speech.
Creeping to the launching opening, she climbed aboard Silver Star's broad, scaly back and prepared for take off. "I'll never stop loving this feeling," she thought to herself though Silver Star chuckled. Soaring through the sky, watching the clouds, then seeing another dragon in the air, she asked Fiery who it was.
"Bronze male, Titan John, Ray's partner," screeched Fiery as if it was the obvious. (He's a bird, okay, all birds screech!)
Thinking back to where she had seen the familiar male bronze dragon, she had a flashback.

Flashback
It was the start of a new year and the mating season had arrived. All female dragons were allowed to find mates but only the highest-ranking females laid eggs for the clan. Sakura herself was excited for this year; Silver Star was mature enough to mate. But the males had to catch her first.
As all of the mature dragons took off, Sakura kept her eyes on Silver Star. Darting this way and that, she overtook all of the males that were tracking her down. As the day passed on, many of the females had gotten mates. Soon only the highest ranking were left. That was normal for only the toughest and the strongest males could compete to win a high-ranking female. In fact, pursers of all sorts hunted Silver Star but the closest one was a bronze.
In the late afternoon, many of the spectators were still watching the most unusual battle of all the history of mating seasons. Now only Silver Star and Midnight Star were left. Midnight Star was a white-silver dragon, Tomoyo's partner and Sakura's best friend. As Sakura watched in wonder as Silver Star still darted to and fro avoiding suitors, her attention went to Midnight Star as Tomoyo gasped. Eriol's partner, Copper Medal finally caught up to Midnight and as they both flew, they tangled their tails together while flying upwards. It was an intricate dance and as the two parted, Tomoyo informed Sakura she could now talk to Copper Medal in mind speech. Teasing Tomoyo about her crush on Eriol, she laughed as Tomoyo blushed madly.
As sundown approached, only three pursed Silver Star. Suddenly, a dull gold male dropped from exhaustion from chasing. Watching Silver Star at the same time, she saw a guy run out, running towards the dragon. Then totally forgetting he guy and his dragon, she saw the sunset and then mind-called Silver Star. Diving at an extreme height, Silver Star scooped Sakura and took off again. The last two followed the dive and then crashed into the ground. Looking back, Sakura laughed and then asked Silver a question that had been bugging her ever since the late afternoon.
"Wasn't one of them good enough?" asked Sakura.
But then Silver Star spoke, giving her a mysterious answer. "No, because they are not my chosen mate," then Sakura asked again.
"What do you mean?" puzzled at her steed's answer.
"My mate will show up but not now." But before Sakura could ask again, Silver said, "Hush, mistress, go to sleep," and as Sakura fell asleep, Silver touched down and allowed Tomoyo and Eriol to carry her mistress to her room.
End of Flashback

Pondering, Sakura let Silver Star take her outside the clan's territory. Not realising there was suddenly an unknown dragon around, she gasped as a black jet zoomed passed as Silver Star shot to a side. "Fiery, help! We're under attack!" Sakura screamed in her head.
As the bird flapped in front of them, it stood in mid air, wings spread wide, letting a fireball grow to a huge size. It aimed it at the black dragon. Hitting it side, it shot back by the impact but came back to look at the silver dragon. Sakura then realised that its master was controlling the dragon. Hidden by the black dragon' wings, she could see a green cloaked person. Sensing magic, she yelled to Fiery just a few seconds too late.
A green blast shot Fiery and he fell from the sky. Diving under the falling bird, Silver let Fiery fall into Sakura's arms. In a rage, Sakura called upon her magic and as the black dragon speeded towards her, she called upon all her element cards. Calling upon Earthy, she told it to bind the dragon, Windy to whip it out of the collision course, Firey to scorch it and Watery to put out it's flame.
Completely immobilised, Sakura unleashed Lightning on the dragon. Thunder roared as a blinding flash shot from the sky and immersed the dragon. Letting all the elements return to their card forms, she saw the dragon fall.
Then the green-cloaked being plunged from the black dragon's back and dropped. Sakura, had totally forgotten about the green-cloaked person and so shocked at what she had done, ordered Silver Star to dive under the flying green person. Catching the person, she saw that the being was unconscious. Then flying back, Sakura observed the black dragon as it flew into a forest nearby.
After an exhausting battle, Sakura let Silver Star take them home.
