An interesting fact for all of you.
Ever noticed someone who has a bit of Syaoran in them? I guess it's because Syaoran like almost a perfect guy, and many of the things we like in Syaoran are in the boys we hang around in. And maybe with luck for all us girls we'll find a Syaoran of our own! Now wouldn't that be fantastic? ^.~
For all of you's, this chapter isn't really going to continue S+S's situation right now but a retell of the past. Also for all the E+T lovers, a bit of fluff.
On with the next chapter of Sung From The Heart.
Sung From The Heart
Interlude: Remembering the Past
For the past few days, Sakura had been tending to Otou-san, missing school. Syaoran and Tomoyo came at the end of every day and the rest of her class and close friends had popped in randomly until the hospital room had been filled with well wishes and lots of flowers.
Watering the flowers and adjusting the bandages, she occasionally had to look after her dad, as the hospital was busy with other tenants. The fee was less and so she had agreed, knowing that there was nothing else she could do.

You're all probably wondering where in the world were Touya and Yukito. They had been on a tour around France, and were returning the next month. Also Sakura had no idea of how to contact them so either of them didn't know of Fujitaka's predicament.
Syaoran had contacted his Mother and the Clan that he couldn't come. They had told him that with or without the Card Mistress, he was supposed to come back. He's also had a private conversation with his mother.

"Mama Sakura has to stay at home. Fujitaka-sama has been hurt and she has to take care of him." Syaoran said, his face in despair as he thought about leaving Sakura.
"Xiao Lang, I cannot give you anymore time. The Elders are bent on you getting married. It must either be a girl of your choice or one of the Elders' choices. You know this. They let me give you this chance because they know you are destined, like your former self, to find Sakura and fall in love with her. But your destiny may not be to be with her. Remember the former Syaoran's fate? I cannot do anymore, Xiao Lang," commented Yelan, hearing the tiny sigh her son tried to keep from her.
"I am sorry Xiao Lang, now it's all up to destiny."
And then all was laid into chaos.

He was still leaving this Friday, his destination, China. He grieved to leave her, but he knew that it would be better for them this way. Maybe he was not destined, like the previous Syaoran, to be with his Sakura through his lifetime.
He was in his room at the time, after talking to his mother he had started to pack. Dreading the confrontation when he would tell Sakura, he kept his mind occupied while Wei popped in and out, cleaning the apartment, making phone calls, and generally tying up all the loose ends.

Meanwhile in Eriol's mansion
Tomoyo Daidouji, best friend to Sakura and Syaoran, sat primly on Eriol Hiiragizawa's bed. It was night and she had just received a call from Syaoran, telling her of his departure, begging her to not tell Sakura. Her boyfriend was in the shower and she was worried over the state their best friends were in.
Towelling his messy blue locks after coming out of a quick shower, Eriol's mischievous eyes drank in his tenshi's form. Dressed in a white sleeveless turtleneck, long plaited denim skirt, she looked the part. Her hair in a braid, she turned to purse her soft lips at him.
"Eriol! Are you done? We have a dire situation here!!!" she said. "There is no time for you to stare at me in that way."
Just as he was about to protest, she started again.
"And don't tell me that I'm wrong, I know you!" she smirked at him before continuing. "Anyway," she said while her eyes roved along his muscular being, "There's time for that later." She smiled, and for the 7th time that day, Eriol wondered how in the world he was able to find a person that fitted him so well.
He smirked, motioning for her to close her eyes as he changed into more suitable clothes then his blue furry towel.
"Did I ever tell you we're reincarnations? I mean all of us. Not just me. I'm a reincarnation of my former self even though I'm Clow's reincarnation too."
"It's been more then 100 years of course so our history before is pretty much lost. But I was able to remember most of what had happened."
"It all started with the Clow Cards, and Sakura was elected the Mistress of them, but when she first started her captures, she met Syaoran. Li-kun, she called him at that time. And Syaoran of that time, was always frowning or in a mood. He never smiled or cared for her, because he had come to her for the Cards. At that time, the Elders were still after the Cards, and had sent their Clan Leader to be, in search of them."
He smiled as he turned to her, fully dressed and sat next to the dreaming Tomoyo, for his voice was like a story being told, and she had fallen into a trance. No harm would come to her of course, for Eriol treasured her too much. He continued.
"They eventually got used to each other's company, Syaoran to Sakura's ever smiling face, and Sakura to Syaoran's hidden warmth. They became partners, and in that time, he became more and more protective of her. Slowly falling in love, he started to appreciate her, making sure she was all right when ever a Clow Card attacked. She was of course still very naive and she believed that his more and more frequent blushes were in fact fever flushes."
He held her hands in his, rubbing his thumb across her warm hand. His glasses glinted as he paused, watching her for a while before going on.
"His fiance arrived, his beloved cousin who had been his pre-arranged wife from when hey were small. He put up with her, but she despised Sakura for being so close to Syaoran, for being one of his closest girl friends. Her name was Meilin-san. She left soon after a dozen more cards fell to the Sealing Wand, but she and the Card Mistress had made up and become friends. One of my half-daughter's many talents and remarkable natures. By then, more people had begun to notice Syaoran's attention for Sakura. Sakura's other guardian, Yue of the Moon, was sent to do justice and find the one true Cardcaptor."
"Sakura succeeded and when things got calm, that when I arrived into town. I was the same at the time, still Clow Reed's reincarnation and very, very lovingly evil. I created havoc in the town, causing Sakura to transform all her cards to Sakura cards so she could return things to normal. Syaoran stayed with her through this epic struggle, and he often gave her courage when things seemed darkest."
"When the last card was transformed, my cute little descendant confessed, his love for her and only her. His protectiveness and his friendship. He had finally understood after all the months of cardcapting had meant to him. She had changed him permanently. For the better, for she was the first to see him smile in Japan, made him see that he could have fun in life and that love was for giving and sharing. He gave his love freely to her, but she didn't answer. She faltered and that was what made him decide to leave. I was to leave too."
She was frowning, as if she had partially remembered her feelings when that had happened. He kissed her cheek, which soothed her, giving her the dreamy look again.
"That day, he told you, your past self not to tell her he was leaving. But you told her and left her confused. She spent that day thinking and she borrowed your beloved tapes and sat down and looked at Syaoran and watched his movements and his gestures towards her. And she finally came to a conclusion. She had fallen in love but had been too dense to see it. So she ran to the airport to see him off and say that she loved him. But she was too late."
"He had to leave. That was certain, but when they saw each other again, they traded their teddy bears and swore to meet again. He called her pink teddy bear Ying Fa and she called his green bear Little Wolf. When he left, she waited for a long time, never waning, always waiting for him. 5 years passed, and he did not return. The toll of waiting for him was weighing on Sakura and she became more and more listless everyday."
"But then you found a way to free her. In a way you helped her to find her Syaoran again after all these years. She had grown up of course, no longer that dense but she refused to believe that Syaoran break his promise. You took her to a music company, made her sing for them and her music career started. It helped her to forget her longing but it was never out of her mind."
"When her first song, Forgiven, Not Forgotten came out, it was all the rage in Japan. It spread and she became a superstar. Her song was spread around the world. Even to China where Syaoran would hear it first on the radio. He had given up on her. But he still loved her without knowing. He told himself that he loved his girlfriend and not Sakura. But the truth was there, in his girlfriend. She was almost a replica of Sakura except a certain quality."
A tear dropped off Tomoyo's partially conscious face. Eriol wiped it away, caressed her face and went on.
"The next day after a strange dream on Syaoran and the Card Mistress's part, she recorded her second song, Everywhere. That day we met again, after 6 years and it was like seeing you the first time all over again. Also the song was soon passed to China and again Syaoran heard it. Soon Meilin had heard it too and had came upon a plan to set the two up again."
"She had devised a plot, a sure fire way of making the two of them meet again. Making Syaoran win a game show, the prize, three weeks with Sakura on Hawaii. But you plan started to backfire the moment Syaoran agreed to take Sally, his girlfriend. After 6 years had passed, Syaoran Li and Sakura Kinomoto would finally meet again."
"The day they met, my dearest half-daughter didn't know that Syaoran had gotten a girlfriend. She went up to him, found out that he had gotten a girl and her heart shattered into a million pieces, and never meant to be put together again. This blind sadness turned to anger, for he had made her wait for years and years, never really meaning to come back and find her. Inspiring her to put out her third song, I Never Loved You Anyway which was short-lived since she only played it once."
"My descendant became a wreck after hearing her, knowing that it was all his own fault, but he still loved her. She was forbidden but he still loved her after all these years. He had placed all of his affection to Sally for she looked just like Sakura except for a few alterations. Realising his love, he finally made a decision."
"They became friends again, slow at first, but eventually got over the years difference. But Sally had found out, and had confronted Syaoran. She got upset and had run onto the road in from of the Hawaiian hotel. She was hit by a car and was taken to hospital with Syaoran who accompanied her."
"Sakura had seen it all. She had followed them, flying to the hospital and hiding her aura from Syaoran. She saw Syaoran telling Sally that he wouldn't know what he would do if he lost her. And hearing all this she left, wishing to be left in peace from the world, keeping together what she had left of her heart. She left a note to him, and left."
A saddened look on his regal face, Eriol Hiiragazawa took Daidouji's limp form and tucked her into his bed, closing her eyes and he went on.
"Syaoran left Sally after she was well again, and started to seek Sakura who had left Hawaii and gone back to you for sanctuary. She sang her last song for you, All The Love In The World and left for her own house. The day she returned, she locked herself up in her room, isolating herself, while Touya, Yue and Kero tried to get to her. She spent her following days refusing food and watched and looked at all the things that reminded her of him. And she forgot all of her worries."
"Syaoran went back to Japan, to find Sakura, and was greeted at Tomoyo's mansion. Sakura was in the same place at the same time, and when Tomoyo went to answer Syaoran she followed without knowing. Amber met emerald again, and he confessed what he had done. But as always Sakura was thinking about Sally, thinking of the pain both of them had caused and tore away from his gasp."
"She ran onto the road, her mind in a whirl and didn't see the truck coming towards her. Syaoran did and he pushed her aside and took the impact. He was bleeding and unconscious when she got up again, and she cried over him. When the ambulance came she and Tomoyo followed, waiting together while he was put into emergency surgery."
"When the doctors came out they told Sakura that he only had a few minutes left, and that she could see him for the last time. She thought she was in a dream. She didn't want to believe. But she went in and saw reality. His limp and pale form, lying there, and she cried. For all the things that had gone wrong. And that it was her fault that he was dying because of her."
"He awoke for the last time, to tell her that it wasn't her fault and he had chosen to had rather lived and died knowing her then having to live and never seen her. He told her that he loved her, and that he had always. And with that Syaoran, my descendant and my half-daughter's love died."
"She was never the same after, like she had died herself and all that was left was a shell. She killed herself, and shortly after that she was buried with him, finally together without any obstacles. The world mourned the loss and we were left only to remember and live on."
"Until that is we were reincarnated and emerald and amber met once again."
Back to the present-Chapter 18!
Author's Notes: I'm sorry if that was a bore. I had forgotten what I had written in the story so it was a good chapter for me to remember with. I'm sorry if SFTH is dragging on. Please tell me if you think so. Anyway, hope you liked it! ^_^
