Chapter 18: A Glimmering Chance

"WHAT!!!!!!!???!?!?!????"

The ever intimidating, date bashing, teasing Kaijuu loving brother of Sakura Kinomoto, Touya Kinomoto yelled.

Unfortunately for the rest of the people in the same building as him, they heard him. And any who dared that day to enquire, literally were waiting for their heads to be bitten off. For Touya had just been told that his father, Fujitaka Kinomoto was in hospital due to a car crash.

"Touya!!! Please!!" the alarmed Yuki told his best friend who was rushing around the apartment they were renting for the trip.

"YUKI! YOU'RE EXPECTING ME TO CALM DOWN WHEN MY FATHER IS IN HOSPTIAL THANKS TO A FRICKEN DRIVER WHO IS GOING TO DIE ONCE I GET MY HANDS ON HIM!!! THE KAIJUU IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOOKING AFTER HIM BUT SHE CAN'T BE TRUSTED WITH ANYTHING!! WORSE.. THAT LI KID IS WITH HER TOO!!!!!"

A blood red Touya hollered at a very timid and frightened old man who had come up to ask what was wrong.

"GO AWAY!! I DO NOT NEED HELP RIGHT NOW!!" before he slammed the shaking door in the unfortunate pensioner's face.

The poor Yukito that was stuck in the crossfire, tried to calm the Kinomoto man.

"Touya Kinomoto! Stop this minute!!" grabbing the flailing Kinomoto's arms, he tackled him down, sitting on him.

An official knock came to the closed door, momentarily stopping the angry Touya in his tracks.

Ten minutes later

The unconscious gaki-bashing brother of Sakura Kinomoto's was lying spread-eagled on the hired room's single bed.

A puffed out Yukito and a muscly man stood by the single bed, an empty tranquilliser held between them.

"It's all fixed Mr what was it again?"

"Hiiragizawa."

"Yes, anyway Mr Hiiragizawa, your two plane tickets have been posted to the two recipients. They will receive them today."

As Eriol Hiiragizawa hung up from the phone, he sighed, suddenly looking older then his years. Sometimes Clow tried to changed destiny. Or help it. This was one of these times. All Eriol could do now was hope that Touya and Yukito would receive the air pass tickets soon. Otherwise history would repeat itself.

Tomoyo had Touya's phone number, being the only one trusted with it, for Touya hadn't trusted that his kaijuu sister would remember to keep it. Daidouji had then related all the news over the phone, partially very glad that she was on that side of the phone and not on the other.

Now, hopefully Touya Kinomoto would solve everything.

Friday morning

Syaoran was in the hospital, two hours before he was due to leave.

"Sakura I want you to know that I have to end this with you no, that don't sound right" mumbling to himself, he followed the nurse to the room where Fujitaka-san was being nursed in.

"Syaoran? What are you doing here?" Sakura showed her bright face, smiling at Syaoran, pecking his cheek.

Pulling her out of the room, held her hands, looking down on them while stroking them with his thumb.

"Syaoran? What's wrong?" a deeply concerned look entered Sakura's emerald eyes.

"Sakura, I love you."

"I know I love you too but what going on?"

"I had to go home soon, remember?"

"I thought you'd be able to postpone it, Syaoran" He was silent.

"You can't stay, can you?" Tears started to fill her eyes, as she clutched Syaoran's hands tighter.

He shook his head. "You can come back right?" she asked, falsely hopeful, though deep in her heart she knew.

He looked away. "The Elders said I have to stay and be the Leader of our clan. The only reason why I was allowed to stay here was so I would be able to bring you to them."

Tears trickled down her pale face, he gently tried to wipe them, but she flinched. She let go of his hands. Her emerald eyes looked deep into his soul-sorrowful eyes.

"I love you and nothing will ever change that," she whispered, knowing that only he heard before the tears came down in rivets as she departed, into her father's room.

A white and pale-faced attendant carried down some bags as he followed a calm grey haired man who was walking alongside a knocked out Touya, headed for the Receiving Area where they would meet Tomoyo and Eriol. Yukito had taken some good advice from Eriol and had visited a doctor, requesting for a few tranquillisers.

But still their flight had been eventful. Even funny. For Touya, having woken up from a long sleep had bolted straight from his seat, not realising that they were on a plane. His body was restricted, because of the seatbelt and when he realised they were flying, his face turned green.

He never really did like flying.

Just as he was about to yell and make a big fuss, he turned to Yukito who had something in his hands. Before he could realise, Touya was once again unconscious, for Yukito had given him enough medicine for 5 hours, two more hours after the flight would be over.

Enough time for everything to be sorted.

It was midnight, the time where everything happens in stories, witches, magic and curses lifted. It was also the time of goodbyes, for Syaoran stood out in the airport, alone for Wei had left that day. He stood looking out, secretly waiting, and hoping that somehow Sakura would appear.

"This is the last call for Hong Kong, China Calling all passengers for Hong Kong, this is your last chance."

The call came through, and he moved from his stationary place next to the window. His head bowed, the frown on his face, he approached the gateway to the plane. He turned one last time, hearing his name called.

But he was mistaken. No one followed him; no emerald eyes and he turned, following the attendant, the last passenger for Hong Kong, China.

Touya was still groggy, after having just woken up because the last shot he had was overdosed. But he was in his father's hospital room, with his little sister beside him, and no gaki in sight.

He wobbled to his feet.

"Touyaa What are you doing here?" a sleepy Sakura said, wiping her eyes.

"I'm here to look after you and dad, kaijuu. What did you think?" smirked Touya.

"She has to go, Touya." Said Tomoyo.

"What?!?" said both of the Kinomoto siblings.

"Syaoran has already left, Sakura. But you can still go after him. You have to. This is your one chance to be with him, finally after all these years. Otherwise he's going to be married to another girl. That's not you." Tomoyo gripped Sakura's small frame, shaking her softly.

"You were always meant to be with him. Now's your chance. It might be your only chance. So go!" Tomoyo pushed Sakura out the door, following her.

Eriol and Yukito were left to hold Touya back from stopping his sister from following Syaoran.

-=-=-=-

"I've got everything packed. And the tickets. I'm coming with you. Eriol and Yuki are going to hold Touya for as long as possible. Got it, Sakura?"

But the girl was too distracted. This was her chance and hope shone in her eyes, brighter then before.

We're almost there! Chapter 19!

Author's Notes:
Thanks Mary for pushing me. It finally found the way I'm gonna end this story. Maybe in two chapters. Anyway, please review. I wanna know what you think. Is this good?
