Jerri’s Toronto Review

Hey Everyone as I promised here is a little write up about my trip to Toronto. As most of you already know I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to make it because of the attacks that occurred in New York and Washington D.C on Tuesday. So I sat around watching TV and was horrified and scared at what I saw and ultimately I started becoming a little depressed. When I found out that the borders to Canada would be open I decided to go, I felt it was something that could lift my spirits. Well I made it over to Canada with no problems and while I waited for the train I noticed these girls sitting down with BSB pillows and so I struck up a little conversation with them. When the train came we went our own ways and I didn’t think much more about the girls. The train ride was pretty uneventful (read a little, slept a little etc..). When I finally made it to Toronto I got off the train and saw Tracy immediately. Tracy girlie you are a wonderful person!!! Anyway we then went to the hotel, we ended up staying in the Park Hyatt which was right across the street from the boys’ hotel (Four Seasons)….oops let me back up a min. Before we even made it into the hotel we saw David Schwimmer and David Arquette (both who I believe were there for the Toronto Film Festival).

Once we checked into the hotel we decided to our version of stalking (which is really in bad shape LOL). So we went over to the Four Seasons and sat in the hotel and people watched (hoping that we weren’t too late to see the guys). While we were there we saw Benjamin Bratt…Tracy how HOT is he? LOL!! Gene Hackman, Pauly Shore & Krystal (there may have been others but I don’t remember them). About an hour after we arrived I noticed the girls that I had met on the train were there and so the 4 of us struck up a conversation (while they waited for their room to be inspected). Sometime during the conversation I realized that one of the girls was none other than BriePelle on the message board (the one who painted her garage and won 2^nd row seats to the Detroit show last Feb). I thought that was ummmm interesting that I meet her by some off chance in a different country. Okay back to the important stuff (The BOYS J ) . We waited at the hotel until about 5:30-6:00 and still no sign of the guys so we gave up (decided that it just wasn’t meant for us to see them) and went back to the hotel to get ready for the concert.

The concert was excellent. I missed some of Krystal’s performance but the little I did see, she was great. During Sisqo’s performance we decided to go get something to eat (I’m not a real Sisqo fan). We came back right at the end and then the boys, Krystal, Sisqo and the entire crew came out on stage, and Brian talked about how they had lost a ‘family member’ on one of the planes that was high-jacked. He asked us to have a moment of silence for him and everyone else that was injured or killed……..it was sooo quiet during that moment almost eerie considering how many people were there! Then Howie spoke up and said that 50 cents from each ticket sale and SFX was going to match that and donate it all to the Red Cross.

Then it was time to perform and I got to tell you all it was wonderful. I’ve heard all your stories about how playful the guys are and what not and I had never really been able to experience that. They weren’t all that playful when they were in Detroit in Feb. I was pleasantly surprised at how playful my beloved Brian was and he probably would have been more so if a certain blonde off to the right didn’t keep getting his attention! LOL!! Leighanne is very easy to spot in a crowd…..I think she is gonna have to start wearing a disguise if they don’t want to be recognized! During their individual HELLOs AJ came out and said that he was 70 days sober WOO HOO AJ!! He also said that he wanted to tell us that the day before because the number had a special meaning (you figure it out ~~grin~~). When Kevy came out he said “I’m tired of being angry and sad and now its time to have a little fun” (that just about summed up how I felt too……hey Hazel maybe Kevy and I have a special mental connection LOL…..j/k). The rest of the concert was great……..I threw Tracy’s big bird up on the catwalk for the guys but they didn’t notice it because someone had threw a black bra up there……..the face Howie made when he picked it up was PRICELESS!!! But I think I got some really good pics of them up there (hopefully they turn out) (btw just an fyi we were in the 13th row). After the concert when we going back to the hotel and noticed that the van carrying the guys were already headed back to the hotel….this was just 10 mins after the show!! So we headed over there but didn’t get to see much just Nick’s head (LOL I’ll let Tracy explain what was on it!!).

Okay enough of the concert (most you have been there and seen that). On to the encounter!! The next day we decided to go out and get something to eat and do a little sight seeing before I had to leave. LOL I had poor Tracy walking all over the city because I couldn’t decide what I wanted to eat….sorry girlie!! Anyway we went into a little café in a bookstore then went walking down the streets. Tracy had mentioned something about getting boots at a ROOTS store and since I had never heard of it I was curious so I asked if we could go in there. It was a little store so I went in looked around and didn’t see anything I liked (LMAO) so we walked out. Well this huge bulky black guy came out with a lot of bags and Tracy noticed the van as the same one that Nick was dropped off in the night before! So we said OMG the guys are getting something from roots and then we looked back in the store and Tracy said there’s Brian…..well that was all I needed to hear and so I went back into the store and decided to buy a t-shirt that I was looking at. The first thing I noticed when I walked back in was Leighanne and then Brian was right behind her talking to some people (who looked like either the owners or managers of the store). Well I went the to get the t-shirt and the bodyguard (boo hiss) knew that I was a fan because of my HH sweatshirt, and made it so I couldn’t walk by them but rather had to walk behind him! After I got the shirt I walked up to the line and ended up being right behind Leighanne (Brian was off to the side. I waited there trying to get up enough nerve to say something….but it was all shot to (well you know) when the bodyguard rudely asked me if he could help me! I was so shocked because up until that point I hadn’t done anything……didn’t say a word and was just standing there! All I could say is I want to pay for this shirt and this is the line right? He said OH and turned away from me. Neither Leighanne nor Brian heard the conversation because they were talking to other people. I am still KICKING myself today for not saying something to get their attention!! But I’ll just have to live with the fact that they were standing just 3-5 feet away from me in a store!

One last little thing to tell you all (this is a lot longer than I thought it would be!!). On the way back to Michigan I almost didn’t get back into the country. As you all know customs is really tight so I got a grilling and the car was inspected. One of the ladies asked me why I was in Toronto and I told her to see a Backstreet Boys concert and she asked to see my stub. So I showed it to her and she said umm this says July 24^th and then I told her yes I know but the concert was postponed because AJ a member of the group had to go to rehab. Well the lady didn’t believe me and looked as though she wasn’t going to let me cross! Luckily the person who was inspecting the car and walked back into the booth and hear this part of the conversation and said yeah that’s right and that I was ‘legit’ LOL would I have even thought to make up a story like that??. So I arrived safely back in Michigan (btw Tracy it only took me 15 mins to cross the bridge…..I guess because it wasn’t peak time!!).

Sorry Suzie I didn’t have much to tell about the tall green-eyed blonde goddess for the part I was focused mostly on Brian with wandering eyes to AJ here and there…..OH but I did see the camera incident WOW!!! (you know when he, Nick pulls the camera down the length of his body!!) but Tracy can probably tell you more about him.
