| my friend so soon now, comes the end of the year soon we'll be gone a couple of buildings we've seen now for almost four years held a sea of faces too many of them are unfamiliar because the one i long to see is not here because you my friend are not here standing in line to register this year was lonely because you my friend , you were not there homecoming was fun, it would have been your fist one, but my friend, you were not there December came and brought your birthday but no invitation to your house this year because my friend, you were not there standing in line for graduation things it was almost like you were there but there never will be a tassel hanging from the mirror in your car because my friend, you are not here when the announcements came i remembered you my friend because you friend, you were not there one day soon now the red gowns will arrive it will almost be like you are standing next to me but my friend, you will not be there soon now the gowns will be on and as we wait to go on to the platform as our names are called you won't be behind me to accept your next because you my friend, you won't be there my friend, you are not here because of a choice somebody made a choice to take your life away a choice that will change the lives of the people who knew you because my friend you will not be here -Kylene Karabersh ~in memory of Kristopher Robert Lohrmeyer~ ~from my old Colorado high school's magazine~ |
