Born in Shanghai, China, on August 28, Liza Wang Ming-Chuen is a very famous, popular, and well-known artist in Hong Kong. She is the second daughter of a family with one elder daughter and one young son. When she was one year old, she separated from her parents to live with her grandparents in Shanghai. At the age of nine, she moved to Hong Kong with her parents; and Liza has begun her new life there.
After graduating from high school, Liza worked for a company as an official employee in Hong Kong. She wasn't satisfied with her job, so she took a chance to apply for an acting course that opened by the Origin of Present Asia Television Station. Happily, she had passed this acting course along with other eight persons from more than one thousand appicants. Completing her acting course, Liza contracted to work on three years for this Television Station.
In 1970, Liza went to Japan studying a dancing class for half year. Now, she is a great professional dancer in Hong Kong. Furthermore, she is also a good singer; whom do many people adore. Coming back from Japan, Liza has entered the most popular and high rating Television Broadcast International (TVBI). Because Liza is am extremely excellent and talented artist, she's entrusted to work with many important missions such as talk shows, TVB's anniversaries, charitable shows, big events, and many more.
On December of 1971, Liza married to Lau Cheong Wah, a businessman. He is a very nice man who did not do anything to restrict her works. Because Liza was too busy with her life under the limelight, she became a deficient wife. Eventually, they divorced in the early of 1984 and do not have any children. Meanwhile, they are still being good friends.
There was a rumor about the love with Mr. Ho So Seon, her second lover. This man was her best partner in "The Golden Metal Master of Ceremonies." Truly, Mr. Ho did adored her, but she was denied his love. This man was unfaithful to her; however, that was the cause why Liza denied his love. In 2000, Liza has published the secrecy in her biography saying that she had to receive the psychotherapy for this love on six years long! Later on, Mr. Ho immigrated to Canada. But now, this man just comes back to Hong Kong and is working for Asia T.V., but he is no more popular. Failure of love, Liza once has said that she does not wish to marry again. Now, she is very enjoy and happy with her single life.
In 1983, Liza won an award for the EVE'S MOST FASTINATING WOMEN '83. In 1984, Liza was one of the entertainment's field in Hong Kong who was invited to attend the signing ceremony of China-UK Combination's Statement. During the early 1970s and the late 1980s, she was a "red hot" actress who has won many prizes. Now, Liza is still a very famous icon in a string of hits and is the most popular actress of Hong Kong.
In the late 1980s, Liza's movies had been forbidden to broadcast in Taiwan. It was causing by some relationships of the mainland. In those years, her movies decreased greatly; therefore, she mellowed down over many years. For that reason, she went into semi-retirement and has turned into dramatic stage. She's only appeared as a talk shows or big events' host. Actually, most of Liza's plays are on T.V. show in Hong Kong.
From the mid 1960s through the late 1990s, Liza has played in many movies such as "The Shell Game," "Yesterday's Glitter," "Behind Silk Curtains," "Teenagers," "Young's Female Warrior," "Rising Sun," "The Sword of Conquest," "At the Threshold of an Era I-II," "A Matter of Customs," and many more. A very recent serial named, "At the Threshold of an Era I-II," was her very first series in many many many years. Her next movie was "A Matter of Customs," and there will be many of her new movies coming soon. After all, Liza is a person who loves to take the limelight from what everyon can observe.
Law Kar-Ying is a Chinese opera singer who has becoming Liza's partner in drama. They have known each other for more than ten years. Since she has participated in traditional Chinese opera in the late 1980s, Law Kar-Ying has become a good friend of her. Before, Law Kar-Ying was not very popular. After becoming her partner in the traditional Chinese opera, he has gotten many opportunities to participate in T.V. show and movies in Hong Kong. Now, Law Kar-Ying is a "close" friend of Liza.
Recently in 2001, Liza was out of Hong Kong to perform her concerts in the two foreign countries: in Kingswood Theatre, Paramount Wonderland of Toronto, Canada (August 5, 2001) and in Tropicana Casino Resort, Alantic City of New Jersey, U.S.A. (August 12, 2001). She was very very successful at these wonderful concerts in Canada & U.S.A.
