Mad Mod and the Big Hit

"Who is that?" Marly asked her friend pointing to the man sitting at the bar talking to the nightclub owner, and another guy in a mohair jacket. Brenda looked over and back at her friend incredulously.
"That guy? The one with the red jacket and blue pants?"
"Yeah, that boy is fine."
"You're joking right? He looks like a reject from the Mod Squad."
"So?" Marly shrugged. "He's hot."

"Hey, Alec, looks like you've got another fan." Slick Willie said, motioning his head slightly to the woman in red. Spivey, the nightclub owner, and Alec, the reject from the Mod Squad look over. Alec smiles a hello at the woman in red.
"You think her friend there would like some company?" Slick Willie asked in his deep voice. Alec, taking a hit from his cigarette joint scanned the other woman.
"I think you'd frighten her, Will."
"Why because I'm a big man, or because I'm a biiig man?" he chuckles. Alec chuckles along and slaps his friend on the back.
"I say we wait for them to make a move."

"Well do you want to go over?" Marly asked. Brenda shot her a look and took a sip from her drink.
"No way am I going over there. I don't like the way the big one is looking at me.."
"Why? How is he looking at you?" Brenda gulps down a large swig of her drink and adds, "Like a plate of cookies."

"Stop looking at her like a plate of cookies." Alec says. Willie looks back at his friend with a hurt look on his face. On the other side of the counter, Spivey laughs.
"No I'm not," Willie says looking back at the two women.
"Sure you are, you're looking at her like you want to gobble her up."

"Relax, Brenda, he's not a troll who's going to gobble you up."
"Marly, if you want the hippie go get him, but I am not going over," Brenda says exasperrated. Marly turns to her friend and sticks out her tongue.
"Fine," she says standing up. "I'm going over."
"Fine."

"She's not coming over." Willie says disheartened. Alec shrugs.
"Win some, lose most. Hello there." Alec says as Marly comes into earshot. Marly smiles back at him.
"My name is Marly."
"Alec. Care for a smart drink?"
"Sure, I'll try anything once."
"Glad to hear it," he says handing her a drink.
Willie stands, his nearly seven foot frame dwarfing both Alec and Spivey. He walks over to the table and smiles.
"Hey how you doin?"
Brenda shakes her head, gets up and walks out of the club. Willie watches her leave and walks over to the bar. Spivey motions for a seat.
"Sit down, Willie, you're scaring my customers." Willie nods and sits down.
"On the house." Spivey says passing him a drink.
"Thanks."
"We are heading out, see you later," Alec says as he puts his arm around Marly and the two of them exit the bar to his gremlin.
"How does he get all the girls, and I don't?" Willie says thumbing towards Alec. Spivey shakes his head.
"Maybe it's the mohair jacket, I don't think it's in any more."
"Haha, very funny. Gimmie another drink, damnit."

The next morning at the coffee shop....
"So how'd it go last night?" Willie asked through a mouthfull of pancakes. Alec shrugged and took another drag of Willie's smoke. Stamping it out, he shakes his head.
"Not good. She sleeps with me once and already she's talking china patterns and tablecloths."
"That's fucked up, where's Jaf?"
"He's at the store," Alec says looking longingly at his empty cup of coffee.
"Yeah don't you have to work today," Willie says looking at his watch.
"Yes, I started about a half an hour ago," he says looking for the waitress.
"Then what the hell are you doing here?"
"Not getting my allottment of caffeine for the day," he says very loudly spotting the waitress.
The waitress passes the table, completely unaware.
"Finally a woman who ignores you," Willie chuckles, "Never thought I'd see the day."
The waitress stops at the table across from Alec. He looks down at his cup once more and shouts, "Nurse!"
The waitress nearly drops her tray and she turns around, "What did you say?"
"Could I have some more coffee?"
"Sure, you didn't have to shout," she pours him a cup and walks away, "Asshole," she says under her breath, "Well there goes her tip."
"Heh, so what are you going to do about the girl?" Willie asks taking another bite. Alec shrugs.
"Wait and see I guess," he says looking over at the waitress again. He opens his mouth to make another comment, and suddenly stops. The waitress turns to him, her face slowly begins to change in front of his eyes. Her blonde hair becoming dark black, her eyes once brown change to blue.
Alec shakes his head. Willie looks over and then back at the waitress. "What's wrong? You look like you just saw a ghost."
"I think I just did..." he mutters. Alec stands, digging into his pocket he floats some money onto the table and stumbles out of the diner. He nearly falls into a passerby, and she grabs ahold of his arm.
"Are you ok?" she asks. Alec looks up, to see her and his eyes widen.
"Sylv?" he asks his voice strangely choked.
"What?" Alec stumbles back and nearly sprints to the gremlin. The car roars off into the street, narrowly missing a taxi. Alec wipes his forehead and drives the gremlin towards the store.
"What the hell is wrong with me??" Alec scans the pedestrians and his face is contorted with near fear seeing each and every woman a carbon look alike of Sylvannia. He swerves the gremlin into a deserted parking garage, parks it with a jerk and pulls out a vac gun from his glove compartment. His fingers work franticaly inserting a fresh needle as he jacks himself up.
Breathing a heavy sigh as he closes his eyes, the drug takes effect. "That's better."
Alec gently drifts into a deep sleep as the car door opens, he slumps to the ground. Two men watch him as he crumples. "I take it, this is the guy."
The other man bends down and turns Alec's face roughly looking at it he nods.
"That's him, the doctor will be pleased," he says kicking Alec in the ribs. "That's what this bastard deserves for killing Number Three."
