Merry Christmas, Baby...

My 'Santa Baby' Outfit

Christmas is a great excuse to wear *the* little Red Dress!

Minding the Cash Box at the Crown Ball (It's not glory and glamour, but I try...)

What would December be without Christmas events? The San Jose IRLM had their "Bavarian Christmas Crown Ball" and Alameda Imperial had "A Very Naughty Christmas Bash" (I was the 'counter example'... <g>) I had a wonderful time with Jo-An, Jenny, Anita, Margaret and so many others, and of course performed at both...

A Weekend of New Looks!

My Gown at the Modesto Coronation Ball (Wow!)

A *very* Rare Photo of Lisah With Different Hair!

Just Before Going Out To Martuni's

November was a fun month. Some very different events and a chance for some really cute, but very different looks.

On Saturday, Jo-An, Jenny, Emmanuel and I car pooled to Modesto for their Court's Coronation Ball. After trying on about 6 sequined gowns at the shop and not feeling inspired, I noticed a recently returned Halloween outfit - A full Renaissance gown! It was love at first sight!

On Sunday, the Alameda Ducal Court held a "Stars and Stripes' benefit show. The theme was M*A*S*H, which was a tough one for me. Klinger? I don't think so!! Hot Lips? Couldn't pull it off.  So, I decided on a beautiful Chinese dress. Jo-An actually talked me into a 50's style wig to make it all authentic. We performed a cute Doris Day/Rosemary Clooney number - "Sisters"

Meanwhile, back in the (semi) real world, my friend Suzanne came to town. We met at her hotel in San Francisco for a night of drinks, dinner and clubbing. We started at one of my favorite bars, Martuni's and began talking. When we finally looked up, it was nearly midnight! so much for dinner and clubbing..  We went off for some food at the Grubstake (An all-night SF landmark) and called it a night.

The Hot Days of Summer

It's morning... and time for some computer work... Out for dinner - it was hot, so no hose (ugly legs!)

Summer was HOT in the Bay Area. I continued to perform at shows (for the air conditioning), but didn't get very many pictures. Too bad... it was a time for cute shorts, camisole tops and bare legs.

Ms TG South Bay 2006-2007 !

What can I say?  It was almost a PERFECT Saturday!

First, my dear friend Jennifer made it into town. She, Jo-An and I went to a Court Event in Hayward at the Turf Club. I performed (of course) and had a wonderful time. But we (and the rest of the San Jose Court) had to leave early, because...

The Ms. TG South Bay / Mr. and Ms Gay South Bay Pageant was Being held that same day in San Jose.

The pageant consisted of Daywear, Talent and Evening presentations. I made a credible showing in all three areas. That, combined with the lack of competitors <g>, added up to my being named the winner!

Thanks to Jennifer for all the little things she did to help me - running errands, fetching things, and for being there to support me.

And Gigantic Thanks to Jo-An  - preping costumes, assisting me in my talent number, supplying an expert makeover, caring, tolerance and support and soooooo much more! I could never have managed without her.

San Francisco - A Sunday in June

After several months of disconnected schedules, my dear friend Suzanne was *finally* in town the same time as I was. Even better, she was free on a Sunday! We spent the day in San Francisco, visiting Union Square, Golden Gate Park and other places. The weather was fantastic, and our cameras worked overtime!

Cinco de Mayo

Very Mysterious...

A better look

The Tiger Lady (aka  Jo-An)

Cinco de Mayo weekend was both a blast and exhausting. The Alameda Ducal Court had an event on Friday, the Alameda Imperial Court had one on Saturday and the San Jose Court had one on Sunday. We attended all three.

I did "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" with Jo-An (and Sara on Sunday) as my backups. Sadly, we were so busy we didn't take many pictures. None of my 'Gypsy' outfit or performance shots came out great.

The good news: Free food, the chance to perform every night and the courts raised a *lot* of money for charity (over $2000 combined)

The bad news: I'm getting too old for this. Doing nothing on Monday night was *such* a relief.

San Jose Investiture

The Imperial Crown Princess Royale Jo-An Torres, in her sorceresses' costume. There were several far more bewitching photos of her, but I can't have her showing me up. With Crown Countess Sara and Crown Count Paul

The first week in April, Jo-An, Sara, Paul, and I went to Santa Clara for the 2006 San Jose IRLM Court Investiture. An investiture is where the new Emperor and Empress confer 'titles' of various degrees on those who agree to help them in their fund raising efforts for charity.

Thanks, Erin and Tami, for coming by to support us!

Oh... You are now reading the web site of the "Crown Marquessa Lisah Aubergine" (yes, you may kiss my ring <g>)

Lynn: "Say Goodnight, Lisah!"

Lisah: "Goodnight, Lisah"

It was Friday, there was an event going on at the King of Clubs in Mountain View, and I was in town with nothing going on. Sounds tailor made for a road trip! Lynn, Evonne, Jo-An and I went there and met a host of friends.

Aubergine - For Real!

My good friends Tami and Erin were at the social this Wednesday. They gave me a couple of purple (read 'aubergine') outfits that fit perfectly! Doing an audit of my closet, I realized these are the first aubergine dresses that I've owned (a purple sweater and jacket notwithstanding) - well, "to thine own self be true"! (Not sure if that is in context, but it sounds good <g>)

The Jelly Belly Factory!

On a rainy Sunday afternoon in March, what's a girl to do but go shopping, especially when a bargain is to be had? The Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield, CA sells 'Belly Flops' (irregular manufacturing rejects) at $16 for 6 pounds! Thanks  Jo-An! for encouraging me to be silly and get some fun, colorful photos.

Dinner and More Dinner

Hey, we all have to eat - especially me! In March, I met up with Jennifer and she, Jo-An and I went to our favorite restaurant - the Spin-A-Yarn. It was a dark and stormy night (no - really!). While reading our menus, the building lost power and it stayed out for the entire visit. Fortunately, they had gas stoves and lots of candles. Making for an unplanned candlelight dinner - or more like a cross between eating in a cathedral and at a campfire.

Later that same week, I met up with Lori to hear the latest on her transition. We went to a new place - called L&L Hawaiian Barbeque. Cute island decor, ukulele music and an informal atmosphere. All that, plus electric lighting!

Inferiority Complex At Asia SF

In case you're confused, Lisah is the one on the left.

In February, Suzanne and I were lucky enough to have intersected in San Francisco on a Tuesday night.  Combining my need to eat dinner with our desire to dress up and go some place fun, we settled on a new SF classic - Asia SF.  The food is surprisingly good, and the performers... well, if I was 20 years younger, 30 pounds lighter, and... but I'm not.

That's as may be, we had a lot of fun, with me in one of my favorite dresses and Suzanne in a new outfit selected by her wife (!).
