This Words to Own direction sheet is printed on yellow paper and is taped into the students Writer's Notebook. We add to the words to own list periodically with words from the stories we read together in class. Students will also be adding words of their own choosing from the books that they are reading independently.
As part of the Fiction Graduation Standard, students will be creating Words to Own posters from these words. These single page "posters" will become part of a collection of 10 or more posters that are in their portfolios. Click here for an example of a Words to Own (WTO) Poster. |
