| The Proton Perdana is the top range model of the National Car. The name Perdana in the Malay language means "Prime" or "Premier". Thus the name Proton Perdana. |
| The first Perdanas were launched in 1995 and since it has undergone 2 facelifts and I must say with each facelift the car looks better and better. The first major facelift came in 1999 and at the same time, Proton decided also to upgrade the engine from an in-line 4 cylinder to a V-Six. Thus the birth of the V-Sixers. The capacities however was maintained at 2000 c.c. |
