T BREAK>>> Twenty minutes, that's all the bands get to impress. It can be make or break time, so, the air of tension in the Liquid Rooms is understandable on this drizzly Saturday evening. Getting the evening off to a fine start was Dundee 's Lipsick! Their ‘zap pop beep clap music', was entertaining, and just kept reminding me of the Friends episode where Ross brings out his old keyboard and ‘entertains' the gang. Composed of zeitgeist-encompassing lyrics, zaps, bleeps, knob-twiddling and cutesy girlish vocals, Alex and Kirsten's brand of electro had a distinctive 80's feel to it. Accompanied by Cynthia the keyboard, they showed the sparse Liquid Rooms crowd that electronic music doesn't have to be all about sleaze and craply dressed posers; it can be full of quirks and rather sweet.
