| Ingredients: 1 cornish game hen 1/2 c. sweet rice 6 cloves of garlic (sliced) 1 tsp. ginger (fresh ginger sliced up is great too!) salt, pepper to taste Optional: chopped green onion fresh ginseng sliced up jubejube (that fruit that's in the fig family) Directions: Soak the sweet rice in water for at least 15 minutes. Meanwhile, was the hen thoroughly inside and out. Remove the giblets if they are inside. Stuff the hen with the sweet rice. Place in pot and fill with enough water to cover the chicken. Add garlic, ginger and ginseng. Bring to boil. Skim all fat off surface. Simmer about 30 minutes. Serve whole hen with chopped green onion if you like. Season with salt and pepper to taste! |
