The Lord will have an independent nation, the LION CITY "regardless of race, language and RELIGION" in the midst of the Islamized nation, communist and buddhistic society further up north in Indo-China. It is as if the Lord will preserved a "Lion City" and resist on our behalf against all odds to be Islamized, Communized, Buddhized and to be Colonially Mastered.This is inspite and despite of ourselves, for He will let His competing forces in places of wickedness know that He will stubbornly hold on to a minute fraction of people "regardless of the Religion" , so as to confound the wise and provoked them to jealousy and frustration. He will have His Light shine in this tiny Island and let her salt the seas surrounding her. She will be A Witness for Him even as a secular nation.
We are reserved to be a "stubborn" people standing for our own rights in the mist of larger nations. Though the heart of our nation leadership does not call upon the Lord, the Christians are standing in the gap and the Church has been allowed to flourish.
For our very existence as a Nation, inspite and despite of ourselves is His witness to the sea of Muslims NATION around us, the Buddhist and Communist NATIONS slightly beyond. And He will resist on our behalf so that we will be a witness against the Spirit of Islam as a Nation. Nations that call upon a different god, Nations that institutionalized and bound the people with the doctrines of another god is what the Lord will witness against. The heart of this nation's leadership is not of Christ Spirit but it has also not declared war with it. Thus I believed is also the grace and mercy of God.
The Lord is gracious and he disciplines His nation. Till every knee shall bow and every tongue confess, Jesus Christ is Lord of Lords and King of Kings. No longer are we under a colonial master, nor are we occupied by the Japanese, nor are we Islamized and Communized, we are now an Independent nation by the sovereign will of the Lord, not necessarily the original agenda of our founding fathers.
However we have as a nation maybe idolatized our founding founder, crediting him with the survivor and miraculous rise of this nation. If not for the soverign purpose of God and His sovereign favour on us and on our founding father, we will not have today.
As a "Witness" nation but with a secular spirit, we are bound by Pride and Arrogance. As a nation we have exalted the Mind and the mind over Christ. We are trying now to survive on our own strength base on our own mind and maybe reworking, reviving and prolonging the "magic" of the founding fathers, on what was a favour and Sovereign will of the Lord. The pursuit to be number one driven by a spirit of paranoia to survive has consistently and constanly oppressed many which may incur the resistance of the Lord.
Secular pride has entered the heart of this nation and it is being humbled, unless the Lord will no longer called us to be a Witness Nation. A witness Nation that will ultimately fullfill her Antioch calling. For a small island nation we have amassed vast Wealth and reserves but it has also been creatively destroyed in many of our overseas venture. For unless the Lord builds the house the builders build in vain. For unless the Lord watch over the city, the watchmen watches in vain. Even as we are favoured as a Witness nation we will not be spared the humbling experiece.
The Kingdom of God is not of this world. Jesus did not seeks to topple the Roman empire, in fact He did not seek to be the King of this World. For He will come back for His Church and bring a new heaven and a new earth for Her. As the world globalizes and continue its furious pace towards a One World Order, secular Singapore will be part of it one way or another. But in this secularness, the Kingdom of God will play the undercurrent , even a strong undercurrent to the mask of Religion, Governments and Kingdom of this World.
The seeds of the Gospel sown during the colonized days of the European have taken roots and has flourished and will continue to do so even in South East Asia and Indo China today !.
As the Rain and the Snow come down from Heaven and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater so is my word that goes out from my mouth :
It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it...
.In short The Lord Will Have His Last Say and His Last Laugh ! AMEN !
