NOVEMBER 2000
ROCKY MOUNTAIN SUITE
(Cold Nights in Canada)
Words and Music by John Denver
Up in a meadow in Jasper, Alberta
Two men and four ponies on a long lonesome ride
To see the high country and learn of her people
The ways that they lived there, the ways that they died
And one is a teacher and one a beginner just wanting to be there
And wanting to know And together they're trying to us a story
That should have been listened to long, long ago
How the life in the mountains is living in danger
For too many people too many machines
And the time is upon us, today is forever
Tomorrow is just one of yesterdays dreams
Cold nights in Canada and icy blue winds
The man and the mountains are brothers again
Clear waters are laughing They sing to the skies
The Rockies are living They never will die
Up in a meadow in Jasper, Alberta
Two men and four ponies on a long lonesome ride.

Can you even believe it's November??!!
Surely I must be getting old!
Wasn't it just a short while ago we were all preparing for the world to blow up as the clock/calendar rolled over to the year 2000!!
And I'm so garsh darned far behind on this newsletter it's just a crying shame.
Truthfully I'm going to have to wait until my pictures come back from the developers with their handy dandy little dates on them to finish a page about anything!!

I got the layout done for this one...
now maybe I'll go back and put the layout for the Sept & Oct ones down so when the pics come I can just fill in the news!!
We started out Nov. with some pretty good news.
First last Friday, the 3rd we did Danny's IEP.
I suppose the easiest thing to do would be just scan it and put a link to photopoint for y'all to check it out...
I'll get around to that!!

We decided that he would not be held back in the 8th grade as I thought I would do...
He is very excited about the prospect of high-school,
so I've decided just to pass his short little butt along and see how he does.
I know he's 15, and will be 16 the second week of school next year...
but I swear he's only as big as a 8 or 9 year old...
he'd get lost amongst all those adult looking teenagers!!

The second event of last Friday was to go over to Riley and pick up a Rifton Tricyle for him!!  Something he's wanted for a long long time, but we surely can't afford!!
I received a call from the therapy dept. at Riley on Thursday announcing that they had a bike in for Danny.
I was really blown away, because his name had gotten lost off of a previous list and he suffered a severe heart break over that time and I wasn't too sure how to get him on a list again.
I had called maybe last month and just left a message on an answering machine asking how his name could be put back on the list,
and then sort of just forgot about it,
figuring since nobody called me back that nothing would become of it.
Well the Riley Memorial Association bought him one.
It's a loaner...but a long term one...
for as long as he's able and wants to have it.
That's actually quite a good idea,
so that if he outgrows it or becomes too well or too sick to ride it,
I will give it back to them and they can find another child to have it.
Unlike the cage crib that's been in our garage for 5 years unused because I don't know what the heck to do with it...
although when we were picking up the bike we heard of someone who needs one if it's big enough...so we may have found a home for it after all!!
But it surely is a waste of enormous amounts of money to have something like that just sitting around.  Luckily I found homes for both of his wheelchairs in the past.
The ventilator one going to the Johnson County Shrine club and the Quickie going to the IPS school system for who ever needs and fits in it!

So I'm sure there will be more news later this month, but that's it for now.....
I'm off to go backwards and try to find a background, pic, and song I like for OCT.
I just had the computer reformatted today due to some yucky stuff going on and my DSL not working, so I gotta search the CD's I've burnt for my pics and stuff...
but hey...least I got em in stash and didn't lose anything....
cept maybe my ICQ cuz the folder on the CD was empty!!  oh rats!!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving now.  I *think* all the shopping is done.
Tim wants ham...but also wants oyster dressing
(yuck...where is that cookbook!)
and Danny's request is Rainbow Jello (has cool whip mixed in...
you buy it at Save-A-Lot in a little donut mold like bowl thingy)
and Summer just wants pumpkin pie with lots of cool-whip on it!
I just want nothing to burn and help doing dishes!!!

Summer's school picture came back today.  I think we've voted to return them and have it done again on retake day.  Her because she has zits and me because of the fake smile thing that's going on here.  So it'll probably be awhile before we have a new batch of school pictures to pass out...cept for the cyber scan I did on this one to send through my chat egroup type club to get a vote....Since I think my daughter is beautiful no matter how you look at her I needed some unbiased opinions!!  So I spose this here one will hit the trash can and we'll opt for whatever the retake brings...hopeful nothing worse (in Summer's opinion!) I sorta wish we could hold onto this one...get a second one done and pick between the two...but I guess they don't let us do that...
DRAT ANYWAYS!!

Catch you later when I got pics to fill up the right side of this page!!!!
Peace,
Linda
ps...yahoo seems to have updated all their page making stuff and it's actually going pretty smoothly so far!!
