The Band\\ Linkin Park is a phenomenal band with a very unique style. They combine Rock and Hip Hop to create a sound that one cannot resist. Linkin Park consists of six very devoted individuals: Chester Bennington, Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, Joe Hahn, and Phoenix. The band started in 1996 by Mike and Brad. Mike and Brad went to the same college and got some of their friends to join the band. These friends included Phoenix, Joe, Rob, and Mark. The band named themselves Xero. Mark and Phoenix left the band sometime after. Mark is now Taproot's manager and Phoenix is now back in the band as the bassist. For about two years, Mike served as the lead singer in Xero but then they realized they needed another one. So they searched for a lead singer and came across a person from Phoenix, Arizona named Chester. Chester sang over the phone to the band and the band was so impressed, they told him to fly out the next day. Chester was previously in the band Grey Daze. Once Chester joined the band, they changed their name to Hybrid Theory. The band was now focused on putting out demo tapes to get some attention from record labels. Warner Brothers were interested in Hybrid Theory so they signed them to their label. Hybrid Theory then changed their name because there was already a band named Hybrid Thoery or something. They got the name Linkin Park because Chester drove by this place called Lincoln Park in Santa Monica, CA everyday and he liked the name. They decided to change Lincoln to Linkin because the domain, LincolnPark.com, was all ready in use.
