Following signing of the Order on the 11th October 2007, The County Council cleared the path of trees from Baystone Bridge as far as Lower Barn Cottage. The Council also placed notices on Baystone Bridge stating that the new path is a cul de sac and that all users must retrace their steps to that point.
In February of 2009 the Rights of Way Committee of the County Council was due to consider a Path Creation Order to link the bridle path with footpath 1628. The intention is to upgrade the latter to Bridlepath status. We await the result of their considerations
