| Part One: The Black Hole Chapter 9
The skies looked as if they were on fire. They opened and shattered as the dimensions became one apocalyptic catastrophe. Below the Earth and the cities crumbled and split. Mountains rose where they hadn't before, volcanoes began to gurgle. Sewers blew up like gaskets. Street lights fell onto cars. People were swarming the streets; merged with animals and other various objects as molecules melted into one another. Some went mad, breaking into homes and stores. Ministers began preaching about the end of the world to crowds who would stop to listen.
The Royal Ship began to crumble out of the sky, until it completely vanished. The portal still shifted in the sky, like it was twirling slowly.
"We'll have to land", Edele said, trying to ignore the odd, sharp pain in her shoulders.
"Land where?", Sinead said.
Below them in looked like a whirlpool in the sky.
"Edele, Lindsay's gone.", Keavy said.
"I know. Let's try to worry about one thing at a time."
"This is not right. This is not right!"
"We have to get down there."
"Can't you see why all of this is happening!?"
Without needing to hear it, Edele knew what her sister was thinking. She could usually sense it. Twin telepathy some call it.
"Keaves, don't you dare. I'm not losing you, too."
"She brought me back to life, you know. I have to do something. I owe her!", she turned the nose of her jet towards the same portal.
"Darn it, Keavy!"
Edele suddenly cried out in pain. She could feel something odd moving in her back. Her bone structure was shifting, moving under her skin.
"Eddie, are you okay?", Sinead said.
"I'm fine!", she unwittingly snapped, "I'm-arrrghh!!"
"You're 'arrrghh'?"
Edele ripped off the top of her suit. She reached behind her back to feel something moving.
"What the-? Ew! Ew! Something's trying to come out of me!"
They sprouted from her shoulder blades rather quickly, ripping the flesh. She cried, then nearly fainted. Her shoulders, arms and back trickled with warm blood. And a pair of dragon-like wings fluttered. She had just sprout wings! Edele fainted, her face fell forward onto the dashboard.
"Eddie! Hang on!"
Keavy did a nose dive towards the falling jet.
