DEMIGODS AND APOCALYPSES... IN D MINOR
Chapter 2: Drax

"Lindsay!! Lindsay!!", Edele tried to mask any panic in her voice.
Lindsay wasn't in the room. Edele started to panic.
"Have you seen Sinead?", Lindsay suddenly came out of the bathroom.
Edele jumped, then sighed with relief.
"Sinead's with me and Keavy.", Edele said.
"You look odd. Is everything okay?"
"Everyone is gone."
"What? Did they leave without us?"
"No", Edele said, "Everyone is gone. All the people have vanished."
"Nuh-uh. Are you serious?", Lindsay said.
"Yes."
"You're lying to me.", Lindsay said.
"No. I promise I'm not. Go look for yourself."
Lindsay looked out her hotel room door. She looked right, then left.
"Oh, my God. Y-You're not joking with me."
"I told you. I'm serious this time.", Edele said, "Keavy, where's Sinead?"
Keavy made a face and shrugged.
"Sinead went bye-bye.", she said in her trade-mark mock, baby-voice.
"What? No, this is not happpening. We have to find her."
They separated, calling out Sinead's name.
Sinead, all the while, was at the Front Desk. She was a bit disoriented, confused how she got there. She knew that's where she meant to be, but Now, I know I did not take the elevator and forget.
She heard noises. They were calling her. She called back.
It was Keavy.
"Sinead!!"
"Keavy? I'm down here!!"
"I hear her!!"
Keavy came running down the stairs that also lead into the lobby. She found Sinead.
"Where did I go?"
"Wait. Shouldn't I be the one asking you that?", Keavy said, "Come on. Let's go get Lindsay and Edele."
She took Sinead by the hand.
"You want to hold my hand, Keavy?", she joked.
"I'm going to make sure you don't disappear on me again."
"By the way, nice hair."

The four of them met up in the Hotel Gift Shop. The entire hotel was empty.
Except for them. And a mysterious man in a long cloak...
Mysterious man in a long cloak!
The four of them did a sychronized double-take.
The cloaked man suddenly raised his hands.
There was a big, white flash. Then everything went black.

Lindsay opened her eyes. It felt like she'd been kicked in the head. She came to, and discovered herself lying in grass. Everyone was awake, standing over her. She realized someone was saying her name.
Keavy reached down and helped her up.
"Are you okay?"
"I have a killer headache.", Lindsay said.
"We all do."
"Where are we?", Sinead said.
They looked all around them. It was like a forest, but more eerie. The trees grew tall, and the branches grew long and thick and tangled. Like large, wooden beasts. The sky was almost completely covered by them.
"And, again, I say, where are we?", Sinead said.
"You're in the Mother Realm. A place of serenity.", a deep, echoed voice said from out of nowhere.
He appeared from the fog, wearing his cloak. He appeared to glide, instead of walk.
"Serenity? This place looks pretty scarey, like.", Edele said.
"Don't let the appearance fool you. Nothing can harm you here. You see, the Mother Realm is a dream. A place of subconscious. I, and the four of you, are not here physically, but mentally.", he told them.
For a moment, they just looked at him.
"Huh?", Lindsay said.
"This is a psychic message."
"I'm...still...lost."
"I'm communicating with you through telepathy! Work with me here!"
"Oh...So, why are we here again?"
He showed his impatience.
"It's going to take her a while.", Edele said, "So, this place is in our minds, like?"
"Yes! Exactly! Each of you right now are mentally connected. Dreaming the same dream."
"You knocked us out.", Keavy said.
"Yes. I had to. I had to bring yoou here. It was the only way to warn you. I couldn't risk it there. He would destroy me."
"He?"
"Teklar-zxen, exiled Mystique. Leader of the Horrids."
"Do who of the what now?", Keavy said.
"Your planet and all it's inhabitants are in danger."
"Danger?"
"There is to be an Apocalypse..."
"Yeah. A lot of people say that, like. I'm not sure I believe it.", Edele said. "It's not that kind of Apocolypse.", he said, "In a short time, your planet will be invaded and held captive by a nomadic, alien-god race known as the Horrids. It has been foretold. You have to stop it."
"So, where is everybody?"
"I placed them in a clone dimension."
"Bring them back."
"I will. I can only keep them there for a few hours. They will return, unaware that anything changed. But you have to keep them safe."
"Where do we fit into this? Why do we fit into this?", Keavy said, "And who are you?"
"My name to the humans, is Malcom Benning. But you can call me 'Drax'. I'm a Traveler. A mover between time and space dimensions."
He removed his hood. He was dark-skinned, his face covered by a symmetrical tattoo; it looked like some type of clock. He was completely bald. And younger than they expected.
"The three of you, Sinead, Edele, and Keavy-Jane, were given different powers under different circumstances. These 'gifts' were to be joined and used to prevent Earth from suffering the same fate as previous civlizations in the Universe."
"But why us, like?"
"You were chosen."
"Wait. How come no one gave me any powers?", Lindsay said.
"Right. There are four of us...Why was Lindsay overlooked?", Sinead said.
"The 'gifts' you have...could only be given to someone with pure blood.", Drax said, "You were conceived of two different races."
Lindsay didn't mask her agitation.
"What does that mean? I don't get any powers because I'm half-Greek!? Well, then half of me is pissed off!!
