Leroy:
I got Leroy when I was in standard 6 (grade 8)  and he lived to the ripe old age of three.  He was a real honey with tonnes of charactor.  Everyone who knew him loved him.  He eventually died of cancer...the sad way most rats go.  I still miss my little schnitzl.

Lester loved to hunt flying ants or any other insect that was unfortunate enough to stray into my bedroom.  He took great delight in peeling off the wings and eating them like banannas.

Lester was super-intelligent.  He could escape from his cage if he wanted to...but luckily he was too lazy to go anywhere.  He also responded to his name and would come when called (if he wasn't doing anything more interesting).  He was "me broken"....he would never wee on me...but on other people he would let the water's flow.  Most people look at me strangely when I tell them he was intune with my emotions...but he was.  If I was sad he would be very quiet and sit and lick my tears off my face and nuzzle my hand so I had to laugh at him.  When I was angry he would go very quiet and stay out of my way.  When I was happy he would play with me.

I miss my Leroy so much and wish I had some pictures that do justice to him and show his fantastic personality.  However these are the only pictures I have of him.
Leroy very unhappy about being on the grass.
