Because of a bad case of asthma, they sold the Big Foot Texas farm and Joe, George, Maude and Edith moved to a higher altitude for her health. Children were:

i. Edmond Monroe JONES was born on 21 Sep 1871 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. He died in while in the military, when his jeep overturned, chasing Pancho Villa.. No children were born to Edmond and Mae.

iv. Maggie May JONES was born on 9 May 1879 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. She died on 21 Mar 1959 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. She was buried in Coker Cemetery, Bexar Co., TX.
v. Herman John JONES was born on 16 Sep 1880 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. He died in 1952 in CA. He was a Borax Miner who made two million strikes in Shoshoe and Death Valley, CA. He would leave his wife, Etta, at home while he went to las Vegas where he spent all the money.

viii. Edith Stella JONES was born on 30 Sep 1889 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. She died on 8 Oct 1949 in Fort Worth, TX. Edith, her daughter, Elizabeth, and Elizabeth's children, Penelope and Richard Finch, were found dead by gunshot wounds. The police ruled that Edith had killed the others and herself in dispair over Richard Finch leaving his wife for another woman. Edith was a member of the Church of Christ and against divorce, so goes the reasoning. The family still believes it is nonsense to think Edith could kill her family. They think Richard murdered them all to avoid the cost of divorce and alimony. I had to ask many people why they all died on the same day to find anyone who would discuss it all even 25 years later.
ix. George Amos JONES was born on 7 Jun 1892 in San Antonio, Bexar Co., TX. He died in 1917 in Roswell, NM. He died when a horse fell on him at 4 Mile Ranch. He lived 2 weeks after the accident.
