28. Griffin Benjamin MILLER was born on 29 Sep 1820 in Millbrook, Erie Co., NY. ⁽⁴⁶⁾ He was a Swamp Land Commissioner in 1854 in St. Martins Parish, LA. He died on 15 Oct 1860 in Jackson, East Feliciana Parish, LA. ⁽⁴⁷⁾ Griffin B. Miller died from an accident on his Mississippi River Steam Boat. He was a Farmer and lumber mill owner in Jackson, East Feliciana Parish, LA.⁽⁴⁸⁾ Louisiana History, Spring 1962, Vol. III, no. 2, shows three Millers at Centenary College as students, William T. Miller, Goodell M. Miller, and Edward Miller. The family was deeply involved in the College, Rev. John C. Miller was the Treasurer and a professor of mathematics, natural philosophy and astronomy, A. G. Miller was the principal of the Preparatory Department and G. B. Miller was on the Examining Committee.
