The most important people in our lives are our family of course.    This is nothing new in most happy families.  We have been exceptionally lucky. Danny & I (Linda) married young and have been married since 1962.  We have always been best friends.   We had and have the perfect family, one girl and one boy, 18 months apart.  They grew up with a minimum of scrapes and bruises.  A few heart aches but that is to be expected.  They are grown now with families of their own and are doing well for themselves.  Our daughter gave us one grandson born 1985 that is already in high school.  Our son and Daughter-in-law started later and has two small ones, a girl born in 1994 and boy in 1997.

I was born and raised in Temple, Texas. I got the name Ladybug because I love to garden and love little Ladybug things.  Danny was born in  Houston, Texas.  Danny and I met when I was 19 and he was 20 in Houston in 1962.  He worked at Herman Hospital and I worked at Herman Professional Building Pharmacy.  We started our family right away.  We always thought we wanted to be young with our children.  They were both born at Herman Hospital.  Danny was born at Herman Hospital also.   We moved into our first home in 1968.  We thought this was our dream home with a pool.

In 1976 we found some property on a hill top near La Grange, Texas with live oak trees and bluebonnets.  We fell in love with it and soon named it Hass Country, opps Ladybug Country is just for this site, sorry.   We were getting very tired of the traffic and everything in the big city.  We sold our dream home and built a smaller home on our 7.5 aches. The kids were 11 and  12 when we moved.  We tried all kinds of farm animals the first few years.  We had a horse, chickens, rabbits that soon became many, 2 pigs, a sheep, dogs, cats and 2  parakeets.  Some were just pets.  We planted several big vegetable gardens.  We soon found that we were not farmers or ranchers but just city slicker that moved to the country.  The kid grew up and move on with their lives.  We expanded our country home over the years to accommodate our lifestyle or should I say our hobbies, a studio for my painting, a gym, and  wood shop for Danny.

We have made many memories in our lives. But two or three will stand out in our mind for many years to come:  One is my Hot Air Balloon Ride. Another was the Wedding of the Millennium of our closest friend to my pen pal friend from Australia.  You will read and see photos of that wedding under Pen Pals.  Danny and I have both lost our parents but last year we had the Ranne Reunion 2000 of my family members at our home.   More about the reunion under Genealogy.  We both like working in the yard.  Danny more than me but I love my flower gardens and garden pond. We  plan to spend the rest of our lives here at Hass Country.

I love preserving my memory in  Memory Albums.  Just ask anyone.   I bet I have over 20 already.  One of each year, for the Hass family,  since our granddaughter was born in 1994   (7 yrs.), one for the Ranne Family Reunion, one for the Wedding of the millennium, one for our pond and yard and this is just to start.  I have made them for gifts and now I even make them to sell at our business, just the albums not the contents.  You will find bits and pieces of our memory albums all through this Web site.  Here are a few of the most important photos of our family. Just click on the Thumbnail and get the enlarge version of each photo. I may update these photos as the years move along.  I will also be adding photos on the Family Album.
