I am a 31 year old engineer raised in the Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. I now live in Christchurch, working as a computer engineer for Gen-i NZ.

29/5/2001 - Present, Senior Service Engineer (Gen-i NZ)
This position started on a contract basis (for Computerland) and quickly moved to permanent providing all manner of IT support.
Computerland was purchased by Telecom/Gen-i

Mar 2001-23/5/2001, Contract Computer Engineer (Morgan & Banks)
A short term contract to Lincoln University as a computer engineer. Providing technical support.

Aug 99 to Dec 99, Project Support Engineer.
Communication Systems (contract), Chingford, London.
Working under contract to a division of London Transport. A large project to install and test digital systems across London Transports expansive bus network (digital signage).

Jan 1999 to May 1999 Administration.
Employment Plus (temp worker), Sutton, London.

Jul 98 to Nov 98, LAN Services Support Engineer.
IBM New Zealand (Contract), Wellington.
Working under contract from 'East Coast Computers' (see below), to IBM.
Providing computer support across all levels in ANZ Bank based in Wellington.

Mar 98 to Nov 98, Computer Engineer.
East Coast Computer Services, Hastings.
Mobile Computer Engineer, servicing computers / printers. The company is an agent for various manufacturers (including Hewlett Packard, Compaq and Epsom).
During this position I was contracted out to IBM (NZ) Ltd (see above)

Mar 97 to Oct 97, Product Consultant.

Construction, repair and problem solving with computers in a manufacture environment.

EDUCATION

1993-1996, Massey University,
Bachelor of Technology degree, majoring in Product Development.

In short, this degree was aimed at equipping the graduate with the skills needed to perform ongoing product and market development. This combined a blend of studies (i.e. . design, engineering, management, electronics, finance, packaging design, IT, marketing).

This blend of disciplines produced a graduate with a solid appreciation of what a product range needs in order to achieve commercial success, and how to satisfy those needs.

INTERESTS

My interests include snow-boarding, four wheel driving, and design. Also I have recently been experimenting with more spacial art forms, such as sculpture and 3D modelling.

I am a keen artist, having recently finished my first local exhibition at Gallery-O in the Chjristchurch Arts Centre

Currently I have also been learning Maya, and Zbrush - powerful modelling and animation programmes (some of my work can be seen through the "3D Art" link on my home page).

Also I am experimenting with webdesign.

Macromedia Dreamveaver / Flash / Fireworks - Intermediate knowledge.

Maya 6.0 (modelling) - Intermediate knowledge.

Maya 6.0 (animation) - novice knowledge.
