Zen Force Trilogy #2: Chapter 1

Battle for Freedom

On a far away planet within a castle, a chocolate skinned teenaged girl was busily moving along the corridors of a castle. This castle was the one where the girl named Sierra Sinclair lived with her mother Lorraine Sinclair. They had been there for a year now. The corridors of the castle were slender with a reddish colored rug running down the middle. There were pictures along the walls. And there were the usual closed doors along the sides. Sierra was moving down the corridors heading for the courtyard where there was some large battle robots standing around. She was about to do some more work on them. I cant believe it! Its been a year or so since we came to this planet and I havent missed wanting to go home yet. Maybe its because my life has changed I dont know, Sierra thought to herself. Outside the castle in the courtyard, stood nineteen large battle robots. The robots were over eighteen feet tall; each one was different. There were three new ones: the Waterbattlerobot, the Skybattlerobot, a massive robot suit that had what looked like a miniature fighter plane for the head and the Earthbattlerobot, where the head area looked like a digging machine, a sharp pointed drill at the top of it's head. These three were the newest in the arsenal for Zen Force that Earth had commissioned the teen to build in their fight against the Guild. Sierra walked over to the Waterbattlerobot. The Waterbattlerobot was a tall human-like robot from the bottom while the upper portion was a round oval shape. It was having problems with its gyroscope. Sierra had climbed the scaffolding leading to the entrance of the battle robot. As she was working on the gyroscope that was inside the battle robot, her thoughts went to that time, about six months ago when a starship had arrived on the planet Muroska with parts for the new battle robots.

It had been when the Sun was at its high point in the sky. Sierra remembered; she was sitting down on the grass next to her Ninja Battle robot. Her mind went back to that day. Sierra was outside lying on the grass next to her Ninja Battle robot. It was a beautiful day when her mother came outside and found her daughter there. Lorraine Sinclair was a beautiful chocolate skinned woman wearing a brown colored jumpsuit and shiny black boots; the outfit that she had worn whenever Cromorskys Fist attacked them. Sierra had made those when a shipment had arrived from Earth with some materials. Of course she had some help sewing the material on learning from the women in town.

Sierra? What are you doing out here? she had asked her daughter waking the girl up from her reverie. Sierra looked up and saw her mother before speaking, just relaxing, is all. Why?

A starship from Earth has arrived. Theres something waiting for you, Mrs. Sinclair replied. There was a smile on her face and in her voice. Sierra sat up at that on hearing that implied smile in her voice. Sierra looked up at her mother and saw the smile tugging at her lips as if she was extremely pleased about something. There was curiosity in Sierra's eyes, what is it? the teenager asked.

I think you should go and see for yourself, Mrs. Sinclair answered. There was that same smile on her lips. Sierra sighed. Knowing that her mother was not going to reveal anything to her until she went and saw for herself. She got to her feet and followed her mother. The two females with their contingent of guards from Earth left the castle-Government House.

A carriage pulled up before the front entrance pulled by four stallions. The group got in. The drawbridge was lowered and the carriage moved through it. Now, the carriage pulled out of the castle heading for town. This took all of fifteen minutes. The cobblestones along the ground making everything run smoothly. Children were outside playing. Mothers were watching their children while doing the wash or gardening. They stopped to watch as the carriage was making its way to the Government House. The inhabitants of the town felt safe now that the Zen Force was there protecting them. Now on arriving, mother and daughter got out of the carriage and made their way up to the Government House where the Councilors congregate for meeting and such.

Where are we going mom? Sierra asked her mother as the two females instead of entering the Government House had gone around the back.

Youll see, Lorraine said. The group began walking around to the back of the Government House. Around the back, Sierra saw one of Earths passenger starships. It was shaped like a giant cucumber. The front of hatch of the ship was open and Sierra was able to see some kind of crates. Cargo perhaps. The teen looked at her mother as two men came out of the ship. One of them was carrying a clipboard computer in his hand. He was a tall chocolate skinned man with short black hair, brown eyes and muscular. Both of them were wearing blue and gold uniforms with gold epaulets on the shoulder. They stopped before mother and daughter. The first one, the captain spoke, are you Lorraine Sinclair?

Yes. Yes, I am, Lorraine answered. The second man, a short heavyset man with blond hair and blue eyes handed her the computer clipboard and said, I need your signature here then. Lorraine took the computer clipboard from him and signed her name using the electric pen that was attached to the clipboard. At the same time, Sierra had stepped closer to the ship. I wonder whats going on, she thought to herself.

The two men left Lorraine alone for awhile heading back to the ship. Everyone waited for a little while. Then the ramp came down with a loud rumble. Inside the ship was computer equipment and stuff needed to make more battle robots. Sierras confused as she touched some of the stuff. She went further up to the ship as the stuff was removed.

Whats that? Sierra asked.

The equipment you will be needing to make another battle robot or more, the captain said. Sierras mouth dropped. She was stunned. Earth wanted her to make more battle robots. It was just too good to be true. Then she smiled. The men continued to unload crate after crate. By the time the Sun was beginning to sink below the horizon, the two men were done. One of the men went back over to Lorraine and handed her a slip of paper.

"What's this?" she asked him.

"An explanation on why the crates are here," the man said.

"Oh?" she questioned to the man who had already turned and went up the ramp of the ship. Minutes later, the engines were heard. Then, the ship lifted off and left heading back to Earth. Sierra was moving around the crates. Now how am I supposed to get these crates back home, she thought. Sensing where her daughter's thoughts were going, Lorraine went back to the front along with six of her guards. They were Greg, Harrison, Tanya, Kim, Tom, and Ben. She began talking urgently. Two of them quickly left the group. Lorraine had gone with them. The other four remained with Sierra. While Lorraine was gone, Sierra was moving around the crates. She was extremely curious. Five minutes later, Lorraine and her guards returned. One guard were in the lifts-carts pulled by horses. The other was with Lorraine. Sierra turned on hearing that sound. "Mom?" she asked her mother.

"Transport for the crates," Lorraine said. Sierra nodded in understanding. The guards loaded the crates in the carts as Lorraine, Sierra, and the rest of the guards returned to the carriage. They all headed back to the Government House.
