The night was almost over, we sat at the local Mcdonalds, each of us chewing away at our special orders. I think we all had a blast, at least I did! It was one of the best days of my life, probably because I spent it with Matt. We always have fun together. I took a fry from inside the box, chewing on the end of it, listening to Josh and Luke's conversation about Rice Crispy Treats. Having no idea why they were talking about that, I tried to block them out, but they were too loud and annoying.
"They're all sticky when they are hot!" Josh exclaimed, taking a large bite of his Big Mac.
"They're sticky when they're cold too." Luke added to the conversation, chewing on his Mc Chicken.
"Drop the Crispy conversation!" Jen cried, throwing a warm fry at both of them. "It's getting Old!" She whined, emphasizing the word 'old'
"Sorry!" Josh yelped, pulling a pickle out of his burger and throwing it at her brown hair. Laughing at Jennifer as she squealed and jumped up, hopping around.
"OUT!" I heard someone scream, as we grabbed our food and left the restaurant. Laughing the whole way out. The night air was nippy, as cold droplets of rain began to fall onto us. Josh, Luke and Kindell piled into the front seat of Josh's silver dodge ram truck. While I climbed into shotgun of Matt's '86 red shadow, Jen in the backseat.
"I can't believe we got kicked out...that's Josh's second time getting kicked out of a Mcdonalds." I advised, glancing to Matt as he followed the dodge.
"Second?" Matt questioned, chuckling slightly. Only glancing to me for one second.
"Yeah. First time was in the one in the mall, he spilled his Coke and got kicked out." I explained, running my fingers over his CD player.
"Why?" Jen asked from behind.
"They thought he did it on purpose." I spat out, my hand running to his keys in the engine, looking at the many key chains.
"Wouldn't doubt it....a kid like him would do it on purpose." She said cockily from the back.
By the time we reached the hotel it was pouring out. I glanced to the clock before stepping out of the car, 10:45. "Eeep!" The rain was freezing cold as it fell on me.
"Oh No! H20Pheobia!" Matt cried, running over and sweeping me off my feet. Caring me into the lobby where 'This Time Around' by Hanson played softly.
"This time around...You'll like me. But I won't like you." I said softly turning and heading upstairs to our room. When the others entered the room, I was staring out the patio door watching the silver rain fall from the velvet black sky. It was beautiful, I couldn't keep my eyes off the midnight black sky. I just wanted to run out there so the water could caress my body and take away my pain and fears.
"Are you okay?" Jen asked me, leaning up against the other glass door. Her brown hair wet and clinging to her face, brown eyes filled with an odd concern.
"Am I okay? No." I said with a sigh, my voice stuck just below a whisper.
"What's wrong?" She asked, sounding concerned for once in her life. It was unusual, She was usually cocky and arrogant.
"Well. It's nothing really...Just that we are leaving tomorrow, No more vacation. Zac's pissed at Taylor. He's upset with me. I think Matt is falling in love with me, but I can't go back to loving him again or he'll break my heart again." I said below a whisper, my heart thumping in my chest. I felt dizzy and sick, depression digging into me.
"Nothing really? That seems like a lot to me." Jen said with a chuckle as if I was joking. "Of course Zac's not upset with you. And Matt like you? Ha!"
"You bitch!" I cried, my fist flying out at her, nailing her hard in the jaw. Stumbling back, she tripped on the corner of the bed. Flipping to the ground hard. Tears welled up in my eyes as I stared at my so called best friend. How could she say such a harsh thing like Matt not liking me. I couldn't believe her saying that would make me break down and cry. I thought I was over him but I guess I wasn't. I still like him...
"Oh my god..." Luke spat out quietly, he knew we had been such close friends and nothing could break us. Until now, when he saw the Leo's aggression lash out at the Pisces. The lion eating up the fishes. I fell back onto the nearest bed, covering my tear filled face with a black pillow. I had just punched out my best friend because she said Matt wouldn't like me. When she was probably so so right. I should know this by now...Matt will never be mine!
Why would he want a violent snob like me? Why would anyone? I'm aggressive and ugly, what else would a guy NOT want? Whatever it was...it was me. The most unwanted girl around. The worst looking and worst at emotional control. I let out a sigh into the pillow, wishing to stay hiding for the rest of my life. Of course it would be better that way, never be able to hurt another person. Won't be able to destroy anyone's life by liking them and wishing to be with them.
