Silver Rain
One

I'm staring at my face in the mirror, staring at my sparkling baby blue eyes. My eyes are a good thing and a bad thing all at once. They're pretty cool 'cause everyone wants blue eyes, and the way they sparkle catches peoples attention. But whenever I want to hide my feelings and emotions, I can't because everyone seems to be able to read my eyes like an open book. Usually they're more of a burden then a blessing.

They should be green, I told myself as I tucked a blonde lock behind my left ear, turning and brushing past the oak wood door, entering into the large hotel room. I scanned the room, my older brother, Luke was sitting on the edge of the bed, chatting quietly with Jennifer. Kindell stood by the patio door, glaring across the room at the two, while Joshua was engrossed in some program on Mtv. Bill and Matt were nowhere to be found.

We were staying at a Ramada Inn in Chicago, Illinois. It was my fault we were here. I had won four passes to a Hanson and NSYNC autograph signing...I had begged the boys to come stay a week with me, I mean free hotel and all! Plus I don't think I could live a whole week without them!

"Where did Matt go?" I asked, half to myself and half to the room. Matt, geez why did I even like the kid? He's never gonna be mine.

"Matt, Matt, Matt! That's all you ever talk about!" Kindell shot at me, her eyes full of an undying rage. "Get over it!"

"The day you get over my brother will be the day I get over Matt!" I spat out, knowing she was never going to get over him. She's been after him now for five years.

"I'm over him!" she screamed at me, her small hands balled into tight fists at her side. She was trembling all over, growling out curses under her breath.

"Like hell you are!" I spat out, why was she acting this way? We usually didn't fight like this.

"I am!" she growled , stomping her feet on the ground, angry with me. "Plus, Matt is really gross and mean. He's not your type. You should move on. Like I moved on and am over Luke!"

Rolling my eyes, I turned and stormed out of the hotel room, in my plaid red boxers and red T-shirt. Oh, Great! I thought, I couldn't believe I was wandering the halls in my boxers! Not like I know anyone...

Just as the thought crossed my mind I crashed right into someone, whoever it was stumbled backwards slightly, making me fall forwards. I lay on the crimson red carpet, the frame next to me in a fit of giggles, this was extremely funny to them! Slowly I began to sit up, my eyes shifting to the person next to me.

Light golden blonde hair, pulled back into a loose ponytail. Soft, deep caramel brown eyes shining brightly at all angles beneath the lights that hung above. His face round and slightly chubby, giving him a cute boyish look.

"Your not Jordan..." he commented, slowly raising to his full height, extending a hand out to help me up. "I'm really sorry. I thought you were my older brother, he was out here in red boxers and shirt." I let him help me to my feet, he seemed totally familiar...Where have I seen him before?

"It's okay, nothing's broken." I said smirking slightly. He's kinda cute, I made a mental note of his looks when if finally dawned on me. "Are you Zac Hanson?" I spat out almost immediately, my eyes gleaming at the thought.

"Yep. that's me. The one and only Zac Hanson...Don't mug me now!" He said, a huge grin plastered upon his soft face, "So. Whatcha name?"

"Me?" I asked, slightly raising an eyebrow in his direction. "I'm April Winters." I commented trying to sound confident. I couldn't believe how smooth I was acting around him.

"Oh my god!" Zac screeched like an obsessed fan, throwing his arms around me, pulling me into a hug. "I've waited all my life to meet you! Your my idle! I'm your number one fan!" He screamed, then bursted out into another fit of giggles.

"You get that a lot huh?" I asked, smiling softly to him. Gosh, he was so silly, yet so perfect.

"Yep. It gets pretty annoying." He said, a evil grin fixed on his face, "but I found someone different."

"Who's that?" I questioned, wanting to get to know him better. He seemed totally like the sweetest guy I've ever met.

"You." He spat out, his brown eyes gleaming, "You didn't freak out when you first met me."

"Why should I? Your just like me...another fifteen year old hiding from the world." I said, lifting my shoulders in a slight shrug. I knew it was the truth...

"I'm not fifteen for another two months, October." Zac corrected me, a slick grin plastered on his perfectly smooth round face. He looked so devilish, so very devilish.

"Oh yeah." I said as I heard a large crack of thunder from outside the walls of the hotel. "I should be heading back to my hotel room." I whispered, my blue eyes shifting to the crimson carpet.

"So soon? It's only 9:30. I was hopeing to take you for a walk...for something to do." he said, a hint of disappointment in his voice. It made me feel so guilty, it was the least I could do...he's given me a lot, music and an autograph.

"I guess I still have time." I said giving into him, "Lead the way, Zac." I looked down. He reached for me hand and I let him take it, gladly. He lead me down a flight of stairs, heading to the first floor as Matt and Bill headed upstairs. They hadn't noticed that I was with the blonde locked singer. Probably thought it was Kindell or something, that is if they even saw me.

Nobody was wandering the first floor, it was deserted. Like a plaque had come through and got every living soul sick. The thought creeped me out as Zac pulled me to the front doors.

"Zac...It's pouring out." I whined as he yanked me out into the night. Small cold raindrops fell softly onto my figure, starting to soak my hair and clothes. I could see Zac's figure through the pouring rain as he pulled me to a bench in front of the hotel. I took a seat next to him, the rain forcing my hair to cling to my face. The thought of sitting next to Zac Hanson in the rain brought chills to me, am I that good?

"You cold?" Zac questioned, brushing some wet strands of hair from my face. We were both drenched by now, water dripping from our clothes and blonde locks.

"I'm fine." I said, my blue eyes shining in the moonlight, "I like the rain, anyways."

"Why's that?" Zac asked, pulling his feet up onto the bench, hugging his knees to his chest. His head rested on his knees, caramel eyes glowing at me.

"I always like it when it rains because even if I'm sad, the sky is sadder. It makes me believe that people have bigger problems then me. The rain always washes away my pain and fears, or at least that's what I've always believed." I poured out to him like the way the rain fell from the sky. We sat alone on the bench in the cold droplets.

"Cool...You cold? We can go back inside." he insisted, his eyes sort of pleading. I could tell he was the one freezing to death.

"Yeah, sure. Let's go inside." I said smiling softly to him as we slowly made our way through the deep puddles til we were inside the dry hotel lobby.

"Oh! I love this song!" Zac squealed as 'Song to Sing' by Hanson played softly across the empty lobby.

"Of course you do...You wrote it..." I spat out, the edge of my lips tugging into a soft smirk.

"This may seem sudden...but you want to dance?" he asked, slightly extending his hand as if he was at a wedding asking the bride to dance. I grabbed onto his hand, gladly.

"It would be a honor, Zachary." I whispered, as he pulled me towards him, wrapping his arms around my waist. I put my arms around his shoulders and laid my head on his chest. I could feel his heart pounding in his chest as we started to sway back and forth to the music.

"I'm looking for a song to sing. I'm looking for a friend to borrow. I'm looking for my radio. So I might find it hard to follow. I've never been just longing for your loving. I've never been just wearing down to nothing. I've never been just looking for a reason. So that maybe you'd be thinking of me..." He sang quietly as we swayed to the music. Nobody...I mean nobody was going to believe me this time...Nobody.
