"April...Your soaked!" Jennifer exclaimed the second I walked into room 214. "What happened?"
"Did you fall in the pool?" Josh screeched, fixing his black fitted 'Sox' hat that was covering over his short brown hair.
"Yeah, I fell in the pool." I commented, rolling my eyes at the thought. If I fell in the pool, wouldn't I smell like chlorine? But I don't. I smell like rain...such a tempting smell, so romantic.
"What happened?" Jen insisted, her chocolate brown eyes full of confusion on why her best friend was soaking wet.
"You will not believe this...I just met Zac Hanson!" I squealed with delight, but her face showed no excitement. She didn't believe me what-so-ever.
"Yeah. Right." She commented, rolling her eyes in my direction, "and you went swimming in the pool with him."
"No." I spat out quickly. "We actually went for a walk in the rain together...I'm so serious."
"Shut up. I ain't falling for any of your jokes." She growled under her breath, but loud enough so I could hear her. My best friend doesn't believe me! I've never lied to her! Well, okay. Maybe once.
"But I'm serious." I pleaded, I so wanted her to believe me. I wished she'd be overjoyed and asking a ton of questions.
"Yeah..." Jen said, letting her voice trail off as she tossed a pillow from the nearest of the two beds at me. I caught it and wiped it back at her. "Hey!" She squealed as it nailed her in the back of the head.
I didn't stay around for a major pillow fight, instead I grabbed my backpack and headed into the bathroom to get out of my wet clothes. I changed into blue ADIDAS tear-aways and a matching tank top, I stared into the mirror at my face for the second time that day. "I'm cute." I insisted, turning and going back by the others.
When I went back into the room, Bill was asleep on one of the two beds, on the other one sat Matt, Luke, and Josh all engrossed in a program on Mtv. Kindell and Jennifer were laying on the ground with blankets and pillows, awaiting for me to return from the bathroom. The room was unusually quiet at this time of night, 11:09. Only the TV played softly, the two girls refusing to talk to each other. I wished Zac was there, deep down inside I wanted to be dancing with him again, hearing his heart beat quickly in his chest.
Slowly I collapsed to the floor where a bed was made for me. I looked to Jen who laid next to me, her brown eyes forcing to stay open. I wished she would have believed me, I really did meet Zac.
Yanking a soft green blanket over me, I stared at the boys that were watching television. To my surprise Matt's hazel eyes were on me...or were they on Jennifer. Who ever he was looking at his were watery as if he secretly loved them, knowing he'd never get her for himself. No. That's not it, that's how I once looked at him.
"WE'RE GOING TO A PARTY TOMORROW!" Josh squealed the next morning, "WELL ACTUALLY WE ARE HAVING ONE HERE!"
"Wha...Zac?" I stirred slightly then snapped out of it. "What do you mean Josh? We don't know anyone else in Chicago...I only know Travis in Woodridge."
"My cousin's getting us some drinks for tomorrow night, Party on!" He yelped, jumping on the bed that Bill was lounged out on, yelling curses at Josh. "Stop yelling at me or you won't get any!"
"I don't care. I'm going home today. This sucks." Bill growled.
"Matt? You going too?" I gasped, who was going to take us home at the end of the week? We all won't fit in Josh's truck and for that long!
"Nah...It will be much funnier here and you need me for a ride home." he said glaring at Bill in disbelief that his friend would leave three girls stranded in Chicago.
"Whatever." Bill growled, rolling out of bed, grabbing his bag and keys leaving the hotel. My blue eyes shot to Matt giving him a 'thank you' look.
"What kind are you getting?" Matt asked, his gaze shifting to Josh.
"Hooch, Vodka, Tequila, Regular soda, and some lift." Josh stated then added quickly, "We're getting it free too. He works at a bar and he's going to pick some up for us."
~*~ That Afternoon ~*~
It was hot out, an unbearable hot. So steamy and humid. We sat at the local air-conditioned ice cream parlor, the smell of Vanilla circling the group of girls. I had ordered some Strawberry ice cream, it tasted so palatable. Was as if I've never had such great tasting ice cream in my life. But I knew that the only reason it tasted like sweet kisses was because of the undeathly heat.
"So, April. What did you do last night?" Kindell asked, her tongue devouring some of the chocolate chip ice cream that was dripping wildly onto her hands. "You ran out after our argument last night and didn't come back for like two hours." She pressed.
"Yeah. I ran into a guy, literally." I replied, my baby blue eyes shifting to Jennifer as she swallowed a mouthful of pink bubble gum ice cream. She still didn't believe me. I could tell by the look in her eyes.
"Really?" Kindell spat out, her green eyes lighting up at the thought. "Was he cute? What he look like? Details! I want details!"
"His name..." I started, looking to my best friend as she circled the top of her ice cream with her tongue. "His name was Zac. Zac Hanson."
"Come on! Get real, April!" Jen screamed, her brown eyes filling with rage. "Quit with the games, okay?"
"But I really met Zac." I cried, Why wouldn't she let herself believe me? Was she that jealous that I met her crushes brother? For a year now, she led me to believe that she was madly in love with eighteen year old Issac Hanson.
Silence. Nobody said a word. I was sure Kindell was pondering weather or not to believe me. She disliked Hanson, the way they looked, sang, acted, everything. Hated everything about them. "They're girls anyways. Hanson is." Kindell said, breaking the silence.
"No!" Jen squealed, slamming her ice cream into Kindell's hair. The liquid slowly rolling down the sides of her head. The cone looking like a hat upon her hair. She deserved it. Kindell growled, forcing her ice cream into Jennifer's face, covering her features with cold chunks of chocolate chips. She shuttered as the cone dropped to the ground. "BITCH!" Nicki let out, her hand snatching my cone and lunging it into Kindell's scrunched up nose, making her face a pinkish color.
"You good for nothing slut!" Kindell cried, standing up and stomping out of the small parlor.
"Oops..." I said sarcastically as we both bursted out into a fit of giggles.
