He turned abruptly to see his younger brother rushing down the hallway. Gil laughed, and guessed that his constant running to the third floor was a little too much. Afterwards, he turned from his brother and stared at the floor, suddenly feeling guilty for his outburst.
You can laugh, Tal said coming up beside him, You heard what the nurse said, Lindsis okay.
That doesnt matter, Gil snapped, glaring at Tal momentarily. He reached out to touch the doorknob, but Tal grabbed his hand before he could turn it.
Dont you think Brooke and Tyler will be in there? Tal shot, You dont exactly get along with Ty and thats the last thing that Lindsi would need right now. You two bickering about whos fault it was, if it was Tylers for making you leave or if it was yours for letting her stay outside.
Shut up, Gil hissed, I dont need any of your nonsense right now.
Alright, He brother replied, backing up with his hands thrown in the air, as if he were surrendering. Do what you please, but if Lindsi gets upset and something goes wrong. It will be your fault. You couldnt wait until you were sure Tyler was gone.
Gil turned and glared at Tal, How do you even know that Tylers in there? Your not some damn psychic.
I know Im not, Tal smirked, I was just smart enough to look through the window to see him sitting next to her bed. Brookes in there too.
Gil blinked, turned and looked through the slightly open blinds. There he saw Lindsi laying under the silky white sheets and Brooke curled up into a ball next to her. Tyler sat in a chair on the other side of Lindsi, his eyes sparkled with a layer of tears. Reaching up, Gil touched the glass, as if the three in the room were an illusion.
Tal stared blankly at him, confused. "Hey, what's wrong?" He inquired, stepping forward and touching his shoulder. Gil spun around, his eyes drifting away from the window and to Tal.
"This is our fault," Gil stated.
"What?" His brother sputtered, "It's not our fault that she went a little crazy and...well, tried to murder Lindsi."
"If I would have just stuck with her, and you would have left Brooke alone," Gil sighed, "But look, here we are trying to make things worse. Tyler doesn't want us seeing Lindsi, and Brooke doesn't exactly want to see us either. Lindsi never had a real conversation with you and she rejected me eariler and I put her here."
"You didn't put her in the hospital!" Tal screamed, then dropped his voice quickly.
"Look at them," He urged, turning back to the window, "The three muskeeters, they stick together, watch out for each other, and they actually love each other. Nothing can tear them apart...except for us. Do you want to be responsible for ruining three lives, Tal? No."
"Okay, a second ago I was keeping you away from them and now you've switched it on me."
"Yeah, because I just realized, We've only caused them heartache. And I'm sick of hurting people."
