"Telling her about us wouldn't have changed anything," Tyler spat, "she still would have had Gil coming over, and she still would have been out in the open for her attacker."
"I guess so," she sniffed, "but then at least she would have known that I wasn't into Tal, and maybe she wouldn't have been so nice to..." Brooke's voice cut short the second she saw her friend's blue eyes flutter open.
Lindsi laughed slightly, "Oh, this is a pretty sight."
"What is?" Brooke questioned, her voiced muffled against the pillow. Lindsi tilted her head slightly, a smile lighting the corner of her lips. Yet, it was very weak and light since her face wouldn't allow her the pleasure to grin.
"That I wake up to find the two people I care most about getting along," Lindsi laughed, "I had a feeling something was going on between you two. It's great, you know that? I still remember when Brookie would constantly go on about Ty, but never have the courage to say hi."
"That was a long time ago," Brooke muttered, "I've been friends with him for months now."
"I know, but I'm surprised one of you didn't say anything to me," Linds stated, letting her tired eyes slam shut. Brooke studied her face for a moment, bruises lined her cheekbones and gashes were scattered places across her face, those which had a potential to become scars.
Tyler sighed, also acknowledgeing how battered she looked. Lindsi would freak if she could see herself. "We tried to tell you..." Ty spat, reaching out to brush a strand of hair from her face. When he moved it, another small bruise was visible.
"Yeah," Brooke added, "but you were too busy getting ready for that date with Gil to even listen."
"So, that's what wasn't important," she smirked, her eyes opening again as she turned towards Brooke. "You know, you could have just told me to shut up and listen."
"But it really wasn't that important, I mean, it could have waited till after work." She grinned, "I was going to tell you before Gil came over, but I see he came a little early."
"And nothing happened," Lindsi giggled, giving her friend a half-smile.
"When I walked in," Tyler growled, "that wasn't nothing."
"He's a horrible kisser," Lindsi informed, "I can't imagine how anyone would want to kiss him, and if they did, they must be equally as bad."
"Okay! That was a little too much information!" Tyler cried, his face twisted into a look of disgust. Glancing towards Tyler, Lindsi began to laugh, yet stopped abruptly due to the stinging pain that rushed through her face.
"Fuck, I feel like shit," Lindsi growled, rubbing a hand against her forehead slightly.
"Do you know who did this to you?" Tyler suddenly spat as he watched her eyes quickly shift to him. They glittered even though they were etched with pain.
"No," She lied, staring at him. She did know who did it though, she heard Laura's voice before she blacked out.
