"Are you alright?" he asked.
"I'm not the one laying in the hospital bed," she replied, her voice shaking.
He touched her shoulder and she turned from the window to look at him. "I'll kill who ever did this to her," He promised.
She leaned her head against his shoulder, her voice becoming muffled by his coat as she spoke, "Then you'd go to jail, and how could that make it better? I'd miss you."
"I know," he whispered, pulling her closer to him. He rested his head ontop of hers and stated, "Lindsi will be okay, she's strong, you know that."
They sat there for what seemed to be forever before the nurse came over by them, asking if they were waiting for Lindsi Weaver. Tyler nodded. "She's been taken to floor three, recovery. You can do up now."
"Thank you," Brooke said softly as Tyler quickly pulled her out of the emergency room and towards the elevator. When they reached the thrid floor, they wandered into the waiting room. The atmosphere of this floor was different than emergency. There was an almost visible aura of panic and pain downstairs. Here, however, soft couches took the place of plastic chairs, pale blue wall paper took the place of white walls, and there were no other people, except the nurse at the nurses station.
They walked over there slowly, trepidation slowing their steps. "Hello," The nurse greeted brightly. "Let me guess. You're here for that young girl they just brought up. Have a seat while I look up which room they took her too." She smiled disarmingly, trying to put them at ease. "You can have a coffee if you would like, or, if you have money, purchase a snack from the vending machine there. How long have you been waiting?"
"Hour and a half," Tyler spat, lightly grabbing onto Brooke's trembling hand as if trying to calm her down.
She nodded, "Your lucky, the wait down in emergency is normally longer."
"Can we go now?" Brooke had started to cry, "I...I wanna see Lindsi."
"It won't be long," The nurse stated, turning and heading over to the computer to look up what room Lindsi had been sent to.
Tyler turned towards Brooke, who was staring intently at the ground trying to hold back her tears again. He slipped his hand under her chin and lifted her head. She shook the hair out of her face and blinked at him, leaving her head resting in his hands. "She's okay," he whispered, "Lindsi's okay."
