Hidden Emotions
twenty-nine

Tyler peered over the edge of the couch to see her sleeping peacefully. Her hair making soft curls around her face and the coral dress covered her like a silky sheet. He smiled down gently at her, reaching his left hand out to touch her face slightly.

Just as his fingers were about to grace her cheek, he heard a loud, high-pitched squeal coming from outside. His whole body tensed up, as he yanked his hand back and stared intently at the front door. He knew something was wrong, he knew that Lindsi never screamed like that unless...unless she was caught off gaurd by something.

Without a second guess, Tyler hurried around the side of the couch, heading towards the front door. As he advanced across the room, he forgot about the stacks of movies Lindsi had scattered across the floor. The tip of his shoe got snagged on a small pile and he collapsed face first into the carpet.

"SHIT!" He screamed, "Fuck!"

Brooke sprung up from her spot on the couch, her breathing rapaid and her eyes wide. She glanced around quickly before she spotted Tyler sitting on the floor, his hands pressed against his temples. "Tyler?" she called, standing up and slowly walking towards him. Setting a hand ontop of his short spikey hair. "What happened?"

"Lindsi fucking left these videos on the ground," he snarled, grabbing a handful of them and tossing them across the room. "Fuck, that fucking hurt," he mumbled pressing his hand against his forehead as he stood up slowly.

He stumbled slightly towards the front door, almost tripping again over another stack of movies. "Maybe you should sit down for a second..." Brooke suggested, "Your going to knock yourself out if you fall hard enough again."

"Just, hold on a second," he shot, "I've got to check something out first, I got this really horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach." Brooke blinked as she watched him pull open the front door, and then quickly run outside.

"Tyler...?" she questioned, following him quickly. As she advanced closer to the front door she could see Ty kneeling down next to a smaller figure. Brooke stared intently at the shadow covered figure for a second before she realized that the only person it could be was...Lindsi.

She let out a whimper as she rushed over by Tyler and fell down next to her friend. Staring intently at her friend's once perfect face, all she saw was scratches, bruises, and a lot of blood. Brooke reached out to touch her friends face, to see if it was real or just an illusion but Tyler caught her by the wrist.

"Brooke..." he whispered, "Go back inside."

"No," she whined, "Tyler..."

"Than come with me," he stated, "but don't remember her looking like this, okay?"

Brooke nodded slowly, trying to hold back the tears that wanted to push past her eyelids. She watched as Tyler carefully picked her up of the cold cement porch and begin to carry her towards his car. Fresh tears began to roll down her cheeks, clouding her vision, so she just shut her eyes tightly. Suddenly she felt herself being pulled up off the steps, "Come on Brooke, she'll be okay...she has to be okay."
