"I really did love you," Laura whispered to herself, letting her eyes glide around Gadzooks. She hated work, she just hated it. Sighing, she stepped out from behind the table and called, "Hey, Becky...I'm going to take a step outside for alittle while, I need some fresh air."
No reply. Laura rolled her eyes, and stepped out past the glass doors that isolated the store from the rest of the mall. She looked around slowly, monday night and nobody was around. Glancing over towards Vanity, Laura caught a glimpse of a blond haired girl.
Growling, she stormed across the hall and over to the other store. She walked in, and realized that the girl she had seen was indeed Brooke. Her blond hair fell back in soft curls, adding alittle spice to the peach summer dress she wore. "Alittle dressed up for late March?" Laura hissed as she walked behind Brooke.
She spun around quickly, her eyes glittering under all the lights, "What?"
"I said," Laura sputtered, "ALITTLE DRESSED UP."
Brooke had a confused look on her face, as she glanced helplessly over her shoulder to her co-worker Rachel. Who only stood there, staring at Laura with a face filled with disgust. "Is there anything I can help you find," Brooke stated with a fake smile plastered across her face.
"No, I don't take advice from dirty whores," Laura snapped, "That's what you are right? Who you hang with, is who you are."
Alittle taken back by the sudden coldness from her friend, Brooke muttered, "What's gotten into you? I thought you were my friend...or at least I thought you wanted to be my friend."
"Friends with you?" Laura laughed, "That would mean, having to see that freak Lindsi. Did you know that she was getting really snobby with me at school today? And you know what else, she seems to think of you as some angel, but your not are you, Brooke."
Shaking her head, Brooke smirked, "You know I'm at work and I can't say much of anything to you. So, could you find another place and time to criticize me."
"Your a bitch. Your a selfish, greedy bitch. You and your bestest friend in the whole wide world are rejects. First off, treating me like dirt and secondly, taking Gil from me. That's all you ever wanted, isn't it? To get with something that I wanted, your an ungrateful friend." Laura hissed.
"I'm sorry to have to ask you this," Brooke stated calmly, "But could you please stop with the swearing and complaining or leave the store."
"That's it!" She screamed, "How the hell can you stand there and smile? How the hell? You know you won't fucking ever get an Ofarim boy, and you can grin. How the fuck do you do it!"
"Shush," Brooke demanded, "I'll tell you. I don't let it get to me. I don't make it let my heart go cold, I known Tal forever, a cheater who regrets it. He's not worth it. And Gil, he's so busy he doesn't have time. The only thing he has time for is what he wants, not what others want."
"So you can just drop three friends like that?" Laura snapped.
Brooke grinned, "Yeah, your not worth it. You only talk to me, when you need something. Gil is overprotecting me and as for his brother, he's the past."
Laura laughed, "Funny. You know you can't live without them."
"Watch me," She challenged, "I've got everything I've ever wanted, watch me."
