"Nothing," Came his simple responce.
"How about if you guys stop on by alittle later. Brooke's going to be over and we were just going to watch a few movies, your welcome to come if you want," Lindsi lied, she didn't have any plans that night. All she knew, was that she'd do just about anything to get Brooke to be happy again and if it was inviting the Ofarim brothers over for movies. Distracting Gil and convincing him to let Tal be with Brooke, then so be it. She'd do it.
"Yeah, that sounds cool," Gil grinned, his voice choking in his throat slightly as if he were alittle nervous about how he answered her question. She smiled, and stepped out of the car and headed towards her house. The second she reached the steps, she turned around and waved to Gil as he pulled out of her driveway.
She watched as he sped down the street before she turned and rushed into the house. The first thing that she wanted to do was call Brooke, so she sprinted down the hall. "Linds! Hey, Lindsi!" She heard Tyler call but she just ignored him as she grabbed the cordless phone. Going into the bathroom, she locked the door behind her and dialed her friends number.
"...Lindsi?" The voice on the other line questioned.
"Not very excited I called?" She questioned with a giggle, she figured that her friend had fallen asleep the second she got home from school.
"I didn't know it was you," Brooke laughed nervously.
"You have caller id," Lindsi smirked, "What did you think Tyler would be calling you, how amusing. You can only wish. Anyways, enough about that loser, your coming over tonight."
"When?" She asked.
"Right now."
"I can't."
"What? Why not?"
"I have to work."
"Call in sick!" Lindsi wailed, "I got the Ofarims coming over to watch movies."
"I can't call in sick, you know that, Linds. There is only five of us on staff, they need me," Her voice sounded distant and quite, "And I...I don't think it's such a good idea anyways."
"Listen, I know I can distract Gil, trust me. Tal will be all yours," Lindsi grinned.
"I need to tell you something..." Brooke whispered into the phone.
"I got another call," Lindsi whined, "Okay babe? Tell me when you come over tonight. When you get done with work that is! I don't want you getting fired on my account, is that okay with you?"
"Yeah," Brooke laughed, "It can wait five hours, it's really nothing important...really, it's nothing."
