Hidden Emotions

"I wanna make you holler, and hear you scream my name. I'll give you rules to follow, so you can play my game. Imagine us together, me driving you insane..." Brooke sang quietly, from where she was perched on the porch railing. Her light blue eyes were facinated with the way the raindrops hit the cement, all the while, singing to keep from the ultimate bordem.

"Will you just shut up for once?" Laura snapped, her long blond hair flopping aimlessly into her face as she jerked forward slightly on the pouch swing to smack her friend lightly on the arm.

Nicole laughed from where she was positioned on the steps, "Just like the lyrics say, driving you insane."

"She isn't driving me insane, just..." Laura retorted, "..I don't like the Spice Girls."

"I bet you have all their cds" She shot back, an evil grin plastered across her face.

"Yeah, sure." Laura stated, rolling her eyes.

"I have all their cds." Brooke chirped, grinning wildly.

Nicole crinkled up her nose slightly, giving her friend a not so pleasent look, "You know, I really didn't need to know that. A little too much information for me."

"You think?" Laura smirked, shooting Nicole a sassy look. They didn't have the greatest friendship, actually one that only seemed to stay together because of the one thing they had in common, Brooke. "....I'm going to sing again." Brooke stated, realizing that nobody was listening to her, since they were to busy shooting each other looks, "I wanna make you holler..."

"You've made me holler plenty." a voice said casually from behind her, making her jump and almost fall off of the porch railing. Turning around, she found him standing there. His long shoulder length blond locks soaked with the fresh rain.

"Shut up." she laughed, "What are you doing here, it's late."

"I was looking for my brother." he countered, "It isn't as if I came to see you."

"Oh, you know you came to see me." Brooke grinned, winking at him. "But as for Gil, he didn't come here. And I'd be interested why he would come here."

Tal laughed and pointed his finger towards Laura, "That's why he'd be here."

"What?" Laura asked, just now realizing that Tal was there, and for some reason, pointing at her. He noticed her gaze, and quickly shoved his hands in his pockets.

"...nothing." he instantly said, feeling his cheeks turn a different shade of red as he looked down at the ground. Feeling quite foolish for the way he blurted out about Gil. Brooke smiled weakly and slowly slide off of the railing and giving Tal a weird look.

"Why don't you get out of the rain, come inside." she suggested.

"Uhh, Brookie." Nicole started, "But I need to get home, my mother is going to start worrying..." She smiled weakly, rubbing her hands on her pants, the glitter slightly coming off and sticking to the palms of her hands.

"But, it's raining." Laura spat, swinging back and forth on the swing.

"I won't melt." she laughed, "and I only live like three blocks away."

"Want me to walk with you?" Brooke offered, but got a weak smile in return.

"Stay here with Tal and Laura, I'll be fine." She stood up and added, "It's not that far away, and all I have to do is walk the busy streets. It's not like anyone would attack me! I only have two pennies to my name."

She turned and started to head away from the house, her carmel brown hair immediatly getting wet as she started down the sidewalk. "I'll call you, tomorrow!" Brooke called after her, before turning back to Tal, "Get out of the rain how about? I don't want you catching some cold from hell and then giving it to me."

"I wouldn't give it to you." Tal remarked, walking up the front steps, his blue eyes glowing as the light fell upon them.

"Like you'd have a choice now, would you?" Brooke inquired, motioning for Laura to follow her as she opened the front door and went inside her house. The cold in their bodies from being outside in the rain met the warm temperature of the house, and immediately their entire body felt tingly.

"So, how has Gil been?" Laura demanded, her attention turning to Tal the second they entered the house, he shifted uncomfortably where he stood before speaking.

"He's been fine, I guess. The normal Gil."

"Normal Gil?"

"You know, creative." Tal laughed, "He's been writing some. Out having fun. You know...the normal things he's always does."

Brooke gave him a weird look, "I'm not doubting the fact that Gil is normal. But you on the other hand. Your acting quite strange and your freaking me out."

"Sorry." he laughed, "I guess, I'm just a little tired tonight."

"Aren't we all?" Laura laughed, giving him a strange look. Knowing for a fact that he felt nervous talking about Gil.
