Glancing up from the pictures she was looking at, Laura commented, "No. Not really."
"Well, you know. She kind of just got up and left yesterday...and it was right about the time Tal came over. Do you think something's up?" she inquired, reaching for the remote and pausing the movie.
"No. Not really." she repeated, her eyes glued upon the few photograph's that she held in her hands. "Didn't Tal seem a little uneased to you?"
"Nah. Tal's strange sometimes." Brooke laughed and quickly unpaused the movie that only she was really watching since Laura's attention was elsewhere.
Flipping through a few more photo's, Laura found one that caught her interest. She stared at it momentarily to figure it out if it was really what she thought it was. "Hey Brooke." she spat, "How close are you and Gil?"
"Were friends." was her simple reply. Shrugging her shoulders slightly, Laura returned her gaze to the picture of her friend embracing Gil. It did look like it was taken a few years ago.
Clearing her throat slightly, Laura prepared herself to ask a question that she feared knowing the answer to. "Did you..." she stopped short, of course she didn't date Gil before. Brooke wouldn't have kept something like that from her. Returning her attention back to the photo's Laura slowly began to flip through the album again. When she reached the second to last page in the book, she heard the telephone ringing.
"Go away." Brooke sang from where she lay on the floor.
"Do you want me to answer it?" Laura laughed, noticing her friend's weak nod. Sliding off of the bed, Laura wandered into the living room and yanked the white phone off of it's cradle. "Hello. Champine residence."
"Hey Laura." came the voice from the other end.
"How did you know my voice?" she demanded, a bewildered look forming across her face.
"I didn't. I just knew it wasn't Brooke's voice."
"Who is this?"
"Tal."
"What do you want?"
"You to come over tonight."
"Excuse me?"
"Uhh, you, Brooke, m...me, and Gil...just, umm hang out."
A grin slowly spread across Laura's face at the mention of Gil's name, "We'll be there."
"Great." Tal chirped, "I'll, I mean, we'll see you guys later." Laura quickly said goodbye and let the phone drop back onto the charger. Laura smirked, how was she going to break the news to Brooke. Instead of going to the dance club, they were going to the Ofarim house...bummer.
