Keys, who is trying to put together a DVD to be released around the same time as the reworked Diary, seems to have all the bases covered musically and is trying to get her feet wet in other aspects of entertainment. The singer is preparing two books, and Halle Berry has linked her name to Keys' first starring vehicle for Hollywood.
"The movie situation is basically a movie that's gonna be co-produced by Halle Berry, and it's about a classical pianist named Philippa Schuyler, who grew up in Harlem and was half black and half white," Keys said "She really went through trials and tribulations of fitting in where she belonged. How can she peruse her love of classical music when people don't really accept her? It's really a deep story, so I'm really looking forward to it. It's still in the process of the script being written. I think this would be an incredible movie to be involved with."
The untitled Schuyler movie is based on the Kathryn Talalay book "Composition in Black and White: The Life of Philippa Schuyler." Keys wants to put out a book of her own life story, but not before another work of hers comes out.
"My first book is called 'Tears for Water,' I love it," she cooed. "It's actually gonna be a collection of my poetry and unreleased lyrics and songs from the albums. It's also connected with stories about what provoked me to write what you read. It's very personal and intense and shows a lot of different sides of me. It's gonna be beautiful, it's a great first book.
"The follow-up [book] would be more along the diary side and will incorporate my diary entries from when I was 9 all the way up until today," she continued "It's going to be just documenting and following the experience of the desire to want to win and to want to get in a certain place within yourself. That's something I think everybody can relate to."
Keys doesn't have a release date for either of her books, but she said she'll probably start filming her movie role sometime next year.
In what looks like the first big heavyweight arena tour of the year, Beyonc�, Alicia Keys and Missy Elliott are joining forces for what promises to be a sizzling, sassy bill.
Beyonc� and Keys will co-headline the monthlong springtime trek. According to a schedule provided by Keys' representatives, the tour starts in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, on March 12 and wraps up on April 18 in Oakland, California. Label representatives said some of the dates could change.
Talk of the three pop stars getting together has been circulating for the past few weeks. For Alicia and Beyonc�, it'll be the first U.S. tour in support of their most recent albums, The Diary of Alicia Keys and Dangerously in Love, respectively.
Keys teased fans recently with a series of small club shows and Beyonc�'s live skills were on display to European audiences late last year. Missy Elliott had never toured until last summer's Rock the Mic extravaganza.
Before she heads out on the road, Beyonc� will be seen at a couple of sporting events. She'll sing at halftime of the NBA All-Star Game on February 15 in Los Angeles, and she'll belt out the national anthem before this weekend's Super Bowl game in her hometown of Houston (see "Janet Jackson's Super Bowl Show Promises 'Shocking Moments' ").

The guy who just a few days ago was known as B2K's frontman isn't wasting one second furthering his solo career.
Omarion will drop his debut LP in March, according to Epic Records. Further information concerning the project such as
collaborators, the title or exact due date � has not been released, and Epic hasn't said much regarding B2K's division either.
All the record company said in its statement Tuesday (January 6) is that "the members of B2K, Omarion, Raz-B, J-Boog and Lil Fizz, are presently having internal issues that they're working to resolve."
Apparently the four youngsters aren't working fast enough to repair their differences. On Monday four concert makeup dates were announced to start in early February but on Tuesday Epic announced that the shows have been postponed again.
In the words of Jay-Z, "it was all good just a week ago." Or so it seemed to the public. B2K were busy promoting their upcoming film debut, "You Got Served," and its just-released soundtrack. Then late last week rumors circulated about the foursome breaking up, and on Monday their manager, Chris Stokes, officially acknowledged B2K's breakup in a statement that also announced he would be managing Omarion's solo career.
J-Boog, Raz-B and Lil Fizz signed with new management over the weekend and plan to continue working together. There's still no word on the trio's recording plans or whether they'll still be called B2K.
Omarion will stop by "TRL" on Thursday (January 8) to talk to MTV News about his split from B2K and what�s next for him.
