A Haunted Tale Continued
I called down to Don to bring me my vaccuum and mop,and I got rid of the prints and fast! I just wasn't brave enough to see anymore prints. These prints I might add were in the middle of the floor, way out where you couldn't get to on one foot, even two feet without walking on the rest of the floor at some point!
We were so tired of living away from home, yet so scared to be there. We are really in a bind as of what to do. We went to see a priest and told him of our problem. He told us that he didn't doubt it, but there wasn't anything he could do, and suggested we move. This wasn't much of a help. I watched the paper for houses or apartments to rent, but no luck there either. The rent was either way too high or they didn't accept children. We sure felt trapped.
One night Don brought Cindy home with us. We were going to stay in the house long enough to toss some laundry in the washer. While we were washing, we decided to try Cindy's Ouija board. Don and I had tried before, but had no luck. This time it was different. I thought if it could read my mind, it surely would hear me. I talked to the board as if it was the spirit. I only asked it questions that could be answered yes or no. It moved so fast to the answers it was quite eerie. It told me it would talk to me through the board. When asked how old it was, it went to the number 5. That was the only question I asked, besides a yes or no question. I asked it if it would be quiet and let us move back in, the board replied "NO!" That certainly was true... I asked it if it died in the house..."YES". Iasked it if it died of natural causes...."NO". I then asked it if it was killed..."YES". I asked if a relative had killed it..."YES". I also asked if it's body was buried in the house somewhere...."YES". I went through every room of the house and it answered no to all except the basement. It was in the basement where it appeared to Betty as a blue ball with a red ring around it that turned to gree. Whether this board can be believed, I do not know, for we have now four people digging around the spot where it appeared. Nothing was found but bones of a small bird, like a dove or crow. I even took the bones to a doctor to find out if they were human. We tried the board again. This time I asked it if it knew I sent for Betty to help it..."YES". Other than the first appearance in the basement and the first time seeing the foot prints, it would not act up for her at all. I asked it if it liked her..."NO".
Seeing as I was the main person it let hear it, I asked if it liked me..."YES". I felt a little better, but not much. It said through the board that it didn't care for men. My sister in law wanted to try the board and see if it would work for her. You could feel the planchette almost willing to move before she even asked it a question. We asked it all the same questions that my husband and I asked, and it never did change it's answers.
By this time, we were getting nowhere fast. Betty was waisting her time coming, for she never got to see or hear anything else, even if other people could when she was there. I guess it really didn't care for her. The church and the priest were of no help, and we couldn't find a place we could afford. We sure felt "homeless", like two drifters and a baby. It was getting near the end of summer and our other children would be coming home. How does one go about telling their kids that they haven't been home for their house is haunted? We decided to tell Terry, as she was 14, but she wasn't to say anything to Ricky. We thought it might scare him too much. To our surprise, Terry was shocked but not frightened. Ricky on the other hand, for not being told anything refused to sleep in his room upstairs. We didn't push the issue, but we still can't get him to say why. He has now been sharing a room with DeeDee. The downstairs is sure getting crowded! Terry was a little uneasy the first night, and asked to sleep on the sofa. The next morning we were awakened by banging and slamming of the kitchen cabinets. I jumped out of bed,but saw no one in the kitchen during all the noise, but I could see the cabinets open and shut by unseen hands. I turned and went to the living room to talk to Terry. She told me her eyes opened in the middle of the night and focised on the drapes before her. On the drapes she saw a bright light flickering like a candle would do. She said it was bright enough to light up the entire room and she could see all the furniture clear. She said she watched it for a few seconds and put her hands over her eyes and told it to knock it off. Then she rolled over with her back facing the drapes and went to sleep. She was determined not to let it bother her, and she succeeded. The next night she was brave enough, that she went upstairs to her own room to sleep.
All the walkings and hearing of phones ringing(we have no phone), music playing, radios turning themselves on and off are all in the house now. DeeDee also is now asking everyone in the house to come with her to see her pretty green lady! I am glad I have heard no more noise in the basement. The next day after the children came home, Ricky had gone out to play. Terry had stayed home, as she knew I didn't like being in the house alone. I was busy doing dishes and cleaning the house. I had asked the spirits to please not frighten my children. It was just like I had really gotten through to it, and it let me know through the Grand-ma clock which hasn't run for two months now. It was still stopped on 11:25. Suddenly I heard tick-tock and looked up to see the pendulum (enclosed in glass) move from side to side. It ran for three minutes. Time now says 11:28. I haven't touched it since.
The next night my family and I were in the living room watching T.V., it wasn't dark outside but getting there. I happened to look at my next door neighbors windows. Nobody was home over there. They all looked like normal windows to me except for the one on the first floor. It seemed to want to light up like a T.V. screen. I kept looking at it and before my eyes it did change. It got all white to form a shape of a ghost, from that shape it formed a skeleton. I couldn't believe what I was seeing! I looked away thinking it would go away but it didn't. As I continued watching it, it was like it was a negative film being developed. It would be white like a negative then black like a real picture. This went on for several seconds. It was like it stored up enough energy to stay on the window like a large photograph! It was of a dark haired man with a beard and moustache. Next to him was a beautiful dark haired little girl, around the age of 5. All I can say is she looked beautiful. Her hair was just below her shoulders. I quickly yelled for my family to look at the windows. Only Terry and DeeDee seen it. My husband and son could not! I was so amazed I kept looking out the window, then I would look back at my family thinking it would be gone when I turned back to look. The vision stayed on the window for 20 minutes. I timed it by my watch. It faded out, just like it appeared.
From that time on, it seemed to have blocked everyone in the family except for me and DeeDee. We were the only ones that could hear sounds it made. Although my sister and her children and even outsiders could hear it, it seemed like Don,Terry, and Ricky were all "turned off" for some reason. One evening it was quite restless and it paced back and forth upstairs, and even walked down the steps all the time.
