Strangley enough she couldn't see any one who would have said those things to here. The voice was female... was it her guardian angle? warning her agains evil? Or was it some one else? Not knowing what type of magic this place held, she wonderd if it was possible for some one to be with her, with out her knowlege. The very thougth gave her the creeps. Finially realizing that not all had been the way she rememberd before she went to sleep. She looked around. The place didn't look as beautiful as it had seemed. It was erie. Clouds replaced the sun, and lightning flashed. The wind started to whistle around her, and chilled her to the bone. All the rose buds had shriveled up and died. While the wild flowers that surrounded her had turned to weeds. "What evil had caused this" she wonderd in astonishment? What has happend to this place? It was so amazing! But then those words the women had said " Things aren't always what they seem." came to mind."I should have listend to her. Why do I always have to be so stubborn??!! It sarted to drizzel, then started to pour, harder and harder. Fear held her to her spot. She wanted to move, but was un-sure if she should attempt to go inside the castle. Fear of what was in the castel, and fear of what would happen if she stayed out here. Finially she decided to go to the castle, running as fast as she could, which was hard, because she felt as if some one was holding her back. She reached the castle in what seemed eternity. Banging on the door, yelling for permission to enter, finially the door opend, but once again. No one was there. "Boy what a surprise ." She mumbled to her self. Glancing around to see what this magically place looked liked she gasped. Sure, she expected it to look beautiful. But never did she ever once think that a place could look so amazing. The floor was marble, and was so shiny you could see your self as clearly as you could in a mirror. A chandelier was above her, and a fountain in the middle of the room. Portraitist of landskaping, angles, and children hung on ever part of the wall. A huge stair case stood before her, and was carpeted in red velvet. She heard womens voices sings hyms, and mens voices, echoing. It was amazing. No, spectacular!!
She just stood there, soaking wet, unsure of what to do. Should she try to go find the women? Or stand there and wait for some one to come? Deciding on neither of the two she decided to go and try to find the room were she heard the singing from. For some reason those songs intrigued her, and something stirred in the back of her memory when she heard them. Walking towards the stairs she stopped. There was a door, under the stairway that she hadn't seen when she first enterd. Deciding to go that way instead of using the stairs, she continued foward. She was curious to see what could be behind such a small door. Getting closer to it, she found that she was able to see small, detailed wolves, carved into the door. A few of the wolves looked as if they were the angriest creaturs she had ever seen. Yet, they were beautiful. There was a cave, and what she could assume was a mother wolfe surrounded by big balls of fur, battling it out who would be the first to nurse. Anoter picture showed a water fall, with dozens of wolves surrounding it. Frolicking and swimming in it. There were two large wolves at the top of the waterfall. One on each side. It looked almost as if they were guarding the others from some sort of danger. They looked calm, and gorgeous, but she got the impression that they would attack at the first smell of danger. Stepping away from the door, she tried to figure out what story the picture told. She was sure that it ment somehting, just wish she knew what. Gingerly she put her hand to the handel, and tried to pull the door open, it wouldn't budge. So then, Thinking that perhaps it opend out towards her, she tried it that way. It didn't work that time either. Trying to pull with all her might, she almost lost her balance and fell backwards, when suddenly the door did open, and there before her stood a young boy, not much older then herself. " What do you want?" he said gently. " I wanted to come in." Was her reply. "All you had to do was knock." " Knock? Why would I Knock? if I am inside the house? That makes no sence." " Have you not heard? Knock and ye shall enter?" "Yes, but only when I was a child. Well, that same verse, applys to this house." With that the boy vanished. "Wait! Come back! I want to talk to you! " But it was to late, he had already left. Were he went, she did not know. Nor did she understand how he could vanish so quickly. Pearing down threw the door way, she saw darkness, barly visable was the outline of steps that went down instead of up. Which made sence actually if you thought about it. If they went up they would run in with the carpeted steps that were above them, so there was no were else to go but down. For a brief moment she felt a small twing of panick, because she was scared of darkness. Deciding that she had gone threw so much already, she wouldn't let a little bit of darkness scare her off. Slowly she started to walk down the steps. Her footsteps echoing after her. Finding comfort in humming tunes from her favorite pop singers, she continued on her way.
Alone, in the dark, and nothing better to do but hum, her mind started to wonder. Thinking about the things that had been said that day. About her life, and one of the main question that she still had no answer to was how she got in the forest in the first place, and what had happend to put her there. Also what things had occured during her life to make her hate the gift of life so much. |
