Chapter One: Beginning Anew
As I wandered through the seemingly endless wilderness, I felt someone coming after me.  Run, Lillian, RUN!! My mind screamed.  I knew that I was being stalked, but by whom and why, I did not know.
Suddenly, I tripped on a rock.  The footsteps that I had heard earlier came closer.  I could not get up to run away, so I lay helplessly on the ground.  My doom seemed to stare me in the face.
But then, I heard a voice say, "Take care of this, Lillian.  You will be able to take care of her, but treat her as a companion, not a pet whom you order to do silly tricks to amuse you."  At that, a white bundle was dropped at my feet.
Name: Faline
Tribe: ???
Age: Cocoon
Gender: ???
Adopted from:
Egyptan Desert

I stared at this... thing, then took it over to my friend, Talia's, house.
"This is an Egyptan cocoon." she said, and whistled.  Then, a colorful Egyptan cub bounded out.  "This is Fyora," Talia said.  "She is my Egyptan.  But now, you must go.  Find a home where both you and your Egyptan cannot be found."  she said, herding Fyora out of sight.
A little while later, I was in the middle of the forest again, but this time, I was in search of a home for Faline.  As I found a suitable shelter for her, then placed her in the cave, I had a strong feeling of faith that my Egyptan would live.  Faith that she would start a legacy that would span for a thousand generations.  Faith that I would be a good
"bondmate," as Talia called it.
