Chapter Two: Faline
A few weeks after recieving my cocoon, I was visiting Talia.  "I take it your Egyptan has not hatched yet."  she said, noting that I was still carrying the cocoon around.  "No, she has not."  I said.  <I hope she hatches soon,>  Fyora said.  "I hope so too, Fyora," I said.  The sooner, I thought, that Lilly hatches, the better.  I could sence something was going to happen, something very wrong...
"Lillian! The cocoon... it's moving!" Talia cried.  "M - moving?  As in, getting ready to hatch moving?" I asked.  My Egyptan was hatching!!! And Talia and her Egyptan were there to witness it!
The cocoon wiggled and squirmed.  A rip appeared near where I was holding it.  I saw a yellow eye appear in the rip.  <Help her, Lillian!> Fyora cried.  I set down the cocoon and ripped it open.  A multi - colored cub spilled out.
Name: Faline
Age: Cub
Tribe/Color: Dawn
Gender: Female
Adopted at the
Egyptan Desert
Soon, Faline stood there in front of me, her curious face gazing into my equally curious face.  <Wow... a Dawn Egyptan!> Fyora cried.  <They are most active in the daylight, and have the ability to do a mental "wake - up" call, or, to be more exact, clear your mind of confusions.>  she added on at the end.
"Did you say, 'Dawn Egyptan', Fyora?" Talia asked.  <Yes, I said 'Dawn Egyptan,' Talia.>  her Egyptan replied.  "Okay... I'm at a loss here," I said.  "Your Egyptan, Talia, is a secret Egyptan.  Mine is a Dawn Egyptan.  How many other tribes are there?!?" I asked.  "I don't know," Talia responded.  "I don't know how many other tribes there are to begin with!"  <Well, I think that I should be properly introduced to everyone here!> a new voice said.      I turned around to see my Egyptan, Faline, glaring into my face.  <Well? Who are YOU, might I ask?> Lilly demanded.  "I... I am Lillian, your bondmate.  The other girl is Talia, and the other Egyptan is Fyor..."  I was interrupted by Talia's screams.  I then knew why.
A magnificent bolt of lightning zapped right into the house.  I scooped up Faline and ran.  When I run, I run like the wind.  As soon as we were outside and safe, I noticed that Talia was crying, but Fyora had her eyes focused on something else.  A full - grown Egyptan landed in front of her and appeared to be talking to her.  <What about those two?> the Egyptan asked, nodding her head over at me.  <Yes, they will be coming with us, too.>  Fyora said.  "Going where?" I asked.  <To see mine and Talia's cousins in Kansas City, of course.>  Fyora said. "Ugh... I doubt I'll last a week in that blasted humidity." I said.  The only thing I hated about where Talia's cousin, Danielle, lived, was the humidity.  I liked Danielle, she was a funny girl, don't get me wrong, but she and Talia would occasionally... get into quarrels.
We all hopped onto the Egyptan's back, and, pretty soon, we were desending towards a certain pair of figures standing by Danielle's house.  I knew at an instant, that those two, the Egyptan and the girl, were Danielle and Alina.  Alina was a teen, and she seemed... well... haughty.  Not like a normal Egyptan.
My days were filled with some sorrow.  Granted, Faline helped ease that sorrow, but still - I longed for home.  One day, I woke up before surnrise to see Faline up and ready.  <We're leaving?> she asked me, and all I could do was cast a look towards my life-long friend.  "Yes." I said.  "I can't tell you why.  Some hurts never heal, like the one between her cousin and I."  Saying that, we left.
