Playing
In softball the main posistion I play is outfield. In the outfield I usally play center but sometimes I play right. I like playing in the outfield and catching fly balls. Sometimes I will play second base but I almost never do. I like playing second becaus I almost never get to but I like outfield better. The only thing that I don't like about oufield is that you almost never get balls hit to you so your kinda just standing there. I also like playing outfield because I ahve a good throwiing arm so I don't have to worry about not making my throws like some people may have to. I like when people hit the ball way over my head rather than way in front of me which is wierd but for some reason it is harder for me to get the short balls ratther than the deep balls.
Hitting
In softball I hit from the left even though I'm right handed. From the left I can hit or slap. I mainly slap though. In softball if you are a slapper it means you walk through the box from the left side and make contact with the ball while you are walking through the box. Once you have made contact you just keep going towards first without ever stopping. Slappers usally hit it up the left side. I like slapping. I feel like slapping is more fun than hitting. Another good thing about hitting from the left side is that leftys mess some pitchers up so I get walked a lot. Another good thing is that leftys also get hit a lot so I also get free bases that way. Some people think its not good to get hit but I don't mind it because the pitchers aren't pitching hard enough to really hurt me yet.
Base Running
My favorite part of softball is base running. One thing about slappers is that they are usally fast and they get on base a lot because they are fast and they are already moving towards first base. I don't really know why I like base running besides it is just fun for but I really like sliding and diving back to the base. I think its super fun to steal and its even funer if they make the throw because then I get to slide. The only time that it is not fun if they make the throw is if I get out stealing but that luckily doesn't happen. Another good thing about being fast is that if I am on the bench since I am fast I will usally get to pinch run for our pitchers and catchers.
