9/11/01 Anyone reading this, by now you obviously know the horrendous things that happened today. Pray for the victims, their families, our country & it's leaders. Also my best friend Andrea lives in New York City and I have not heard anything on how she is. Also other friends and extended family in the area. Please keep them in your prayers as well. I'm confident they are okay, because if they weren't I'd be able to sense it. Yall know I'm pretty intuitive, and I should have known something horrible was going to happen. After going to bed at 5:30am last night I awoke from a dead sleep at 8:30am and was wide awake, could not get back to sleep. I went on AIM for a while then went up to make breakfast. I turned the tv on at 9am thinking I'd see Regis and instead saw a big fucking hole in the north World Trade Center tower in New York. They weren't saying what had happened, I assumed it was a bomb, but Katie and Matt on NBC kept saying it was a horrible "accident." Then not a minute later there was another explosion and the reporters kept screaming "Oh my God! Oh my God!" then began yelling that a second plane had hit the Trade Center buildings. It was established that it was terrorist attacks. I started yelling and woke everyone up to see what was going on. Yall know I take stuff like this really personally and the closeness of all this, it's hit me especially hard. And I'm the most patriotic person you'll ever come across now and when they said the Pentagon had been hit too I started vomitting. And then they announced a plane near Pittsburgh was hijacked and that was it, I spent the whole morning being violently ill and crying. It's just overwhelming feelings of desperation and sadness and grief and disbelief and most of all, helplessness. I feel totally helpless. This is just sick, there's absolutely no way to express how horrible this is and how much it will impact the country and the world. I wrote a huge diary entry during the day and might post it later for my own therapuetic reasons. In the mean time guys, stay strong, pull together. Set your differences and fear aside, help in any way you can. Say some prayers before you go to bed tonight and let your family and friends know how much you love them, don't wait because this act just goes to show you that you never know what can happen. (7/12/01) The pictures and story of my encounters with Colby, Amber, and Liz from Survivor 2 are now posted in the Fun Stuff section. Thanks to all who eagerly requested these and then waited patiently until I finished. LOL Busy week! As many of you know, my family reunion is this weekend *AT MY HOUSE* so that's been crazy. I just earned a 20 minute break from the festivities BBQing for everyone. If I see one more humburger or hot dog today I'll die. Just taking a food break before I go back out to lead some games. Yay. Oh, Hall of Fame weekend was a BLAST!!! Seeing our favorite player, Lynn Swann, inducted into the Hall was a huge honor. I went through the museum for the first time (as I vowed not to step foot in that place until they inducted Swann, this was the first time I was able to go in) and saw the Walter Payton exhibit. I got to pay my respects to one of my childhood heroes and I'm not ashamed to admit I was pretty emtional. All in all, it was a fantastic weekend I won't soon forget! {:o) ~Lil~
