Angels have always been a form of debate for many people. I do not believe there is any debate about it personally. I believe that there are many angels that take care of us and watch over us. This page is a dedication to all those who believe and to my guardian angels. Most of the things I will be putting on this page comes from the book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Angels by Jay Stevenson, Ph.D. It is a great book and I urge you to read more from it.

My Story
I have believed in angels all my life, but there is one thing that happened a few years ago that made me believe even more. A few years ago, my Grammy passed away. It was so hard for the whole family. She left my Pappy behind. It was hard for him to deal with her death since they had been together for such a long time. About a year later, we found out that my Pappy was really sick. There was nothing we could do for him but to give him every bit of our love we could spare. This is when an amazing thing took place. My mother told me that she was watching him one day when he suddenly stared upward toward the sky. She said it was like he was staring at someone, but no one was there. She asked him what he was looking at and he told her that my Grammy was talking to him. She told him that it was time to come home. Whether you believe he saw her or not, I believe. They loved each other so much and I believe she came to him in order to comfort him. I believe we all have an angel or angels watching over us. We may never see them, but it is too hard to deny the feeling of a warm, loving presence around you when you feel you are at your lowest point. I know there are many who try to prove there are no angels, but I say, why should you try and take away something that gives so much comfort to so many people. The thought of angels give those who do believe an inner peace and a feeling of protection. Let us believe in their presence!!

Although many people have different views about angels, most seem to agree that they are divine beings - "entities with supernatural powers whose existence can't be explained in scientific terms." Although it is believed that angels are good, there are also angels who are not morally good, called fallen angels. The idea of fallen angels show that angels are not perfect. Also, angels are not all-powerful. Their power comes from God. So, a common belief is that angels are working for God. "This is one reason people are excited about angel appearances: they show that God cares about us and has something he wants us to do or something we should know about."

To Whom do Angels Appear?
Not all people who report having encounters with angels have actually seen
    them. Some people claim to have felt their presence, seen, heard, or felt
    them at work in our environment, or some have appeared in dreams.
Angels can also appear to one person, but not to the other people that are in
    the same place.
Angelophany - a personal encounter in which an angel actually appears.
Angelophant - a person to whom an angel appears.

Characteristics Attributed to Angels*
Wings - usually serving a protective function such as taking a person under their wings
Halo - also called a nimbus, denotes glory, holiness, and wisdom. The circle represents completeness
Shining raiment - white robes represent purity and spirituality. Luminescent or flaming robes represent
wisdom and glory.
Armor - represents power and strength.
Musical instruments - represents spiritual beauty, cosmic harmony, and the chief angelic activity of praising
God.
Form of a baby or child - represents innocence and joy.
Human face - can show love, compassion, anger, determination, hope, humility, reverence, and joy.
Stars - stars as angels represent cosmic order and multitude.
Sandals - denote antiquitey.
