Since, all too often we lose touch with the reality that each and every person has a destiny and a purpose in life that is unique and precious in the sight of God, let us set our hope and trust in the Lord Jesus. Moreover, I feel that the guiltiest of us is ourselves. All too often we blunder ourselves yet when we see another blunder we are quick to discount the worth of that person. Let us all come to know that the worth of one soul is the equivalent to the value of all of the treasure in the entire universe. God gave all that he had, just to be in fellowship with what many would call the trash in this world. The reality is, I know this to be true, that we all have had the leper come to us and instead of reaching out and touching that person we look at what it might cost and withdraw. I know that I have a calling in life and even though my life is riddled with all manner of warfare, there are those few and I mean few that have truly sowed into me and to them there is a true crown of Glory in Christ.
I never wanted a position or office of ministry yet I must admit that it is impossible to receive the love of Christ and his goodness without a desire to sow it in another. This is a calling to all of us to truly realize this: the dogs that licked the sores of Lazarus were more worthy of the Kingdom of Heaven than the ministry that refused him. Lazarus is that infected person God put in your life or church to continually trouble you with needs of prayer and support. I believe there are many of us , especially pastors and other ministers, that gave up on their Lazarus and or even assumed them to be like the harlot that was washing the feet of Jesus with her tears. Look at the ones we said "whew glad that one is gone" and were glad of it. I wonder now if I was too quick to assume that someone may not be worthy of the things of God based on all of the sores they had. What's worse is that we who know the way will stand aside and allow others to remain infected.
Lazarus, like the rich man, was circumcised in the same covenant of Abraham. Yet the rich man was cast out and Lazarus entered Heaven. We also, as Christians, are circumcised in spirit by the Blood of the same cup of Jesus regardless of status or reputation. If we are the Sons of God then truly we are accountable for Lazarus, not the dogs that have licked his sores. I believe many are more concerned with appearance or afraid that one could infect them. I believe as Jesus said in the parable ?you had your reward in this life. Reputation and fear of man is Idolatry. I desire a reputation with the Lord, "Well done." So when Lazarus finds his way to your door don't avoid him or reject him, get down and lick his wounds and feed his soul until he is healed! Moreover, create for the Lord congregations of Lazarus', to make disciples of them and God shall not count you lower than the dogs, rather you shall be crowned with the Crown of Jesus. Surely, the Lord has called us to love one another. You are your "Brothers Keeper."
The Bible says that Lazarus was really dead and that Jesus raised him up after he was embalmed and dead four full days. Moreover, even though the rich men (Pharisees- and many religious leaders) did not believe. Even the disciples of Jesus had their troubles believing the Lord. The Lord was very intense that many people would not believe even if they saw one raised from the dead. Moreover when Jesus raised Lazarus he was simply bringing into manifestation of what was soon to be done in the unseen world of the spirit once and for all, for and by any that is willing to believe God at His word. The purpose of the many miracles that Jesus performed was in preparation for him to make an everlasting link to man from God, that could never be broken. When Jesus healed blind eyes in the natural he was preparing for the Holy Spirit to open the eyes of the spiritually blind. Jesus did the same preparation when he opened the ears of the deaf, thus making it possible to hear and understand the word of God by the Holy Spirit. Moreover, when he caused the crippled and lame to walk he prepared all believers to be able to walk perfectly in the things of God. Jesus cleansed the lepers making it possible made spiritually whole and be cleansed from all unrighteousness. Moreover, Jesus in his preparation cast out demons thus giving each and every believer power over the devil and free will. "If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us."1 John 1:8-10 (MKJV) When Jesus sweat drops of his blood he gave mankind back his free will the power to choose between the fleshy desires of the human will or and the strength to do the will of God. Jesus saying, "Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me. Yet not My will, but Yours be done." And an angel appeared to Him from Heaven, strengthening Him. And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly. And His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:42-44 (MKJV) The humanity of Jesus agonized at the at the soon coming cross, but the God Spirit of Jesus embraced the cross because this was the will of God to destroy the works of the devil. Moreover, the curse of poverty was broken in that blood when Jesus was crowned with thorns. It shall also bring forth thorns and thistles to you, and you shall eat the herb of the field. Genesis 3:18 (MKJV) Moreover, a complete life's make-over is avaiable for anyone willing to believe Jesus.
The resurrection of Lazarus was in fact proof that we shall live beyond the grave and. Prior to the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ men only had hope in a resurrection promised of God meaning a place referred to as Paradise. But through Jesus we are brought into the family of God. The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God. Romans 8:16 (MKJV) We are no longer natural beings but supernatural, through the resurrection of Jesus we are raised up from this corrupt life and are born of a perfect and loving God. Anyone, that is willing to believe Jesus is a new person and shall live forever with God.
That is what He said, "whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die"what a wonderful promise! Now then if we are to live forever then why do people die? All living beings are brought into existence by a life-force that gives a being awareness in this temporal world. This is called a soul. Even animals have a soul that is, similar to humans in that it is programmed to manage and sustain the body. The body is the vehicle suited to inhabit the natural world, which is fashioned after its genetic ancestry. The spirit however is unique because the spirit came only from God. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 (KJV) Man received life not by word but by the breath (Spirit) of God; unlike other creations that God made by his word instead he made with his own Spirit. This is a living soul. When man and woman fell in sin then the Spirit of God departed from them. They became mortals and lost the ability to live beyond the grave. Unlike the animals, since Adam and his wife had eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, mankind has been able to maintain the ability to reason and grow in knowledge. "You shall not eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." Genesis 2:17(MKJV)
Humans unlike any other creature are able to imagine anything, no other creature has an imagination. Yet, a physical resurrection was needed in order for a human to exist beyond the grave. This was not possible until Jesus restored the earth back to the dominion of mankind. He was the second Adam, Jesus stripped the devil of all of his power and gave mankind back his free will. "For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all will be made alive." 1Cor. 15:22 (MKJV) And so it is written, "The first man, Adam, became a living soul," the last Adam was a life-giving Spirit. 1Corinthians 15:45 (MKJV) Inasmuch that Adam sinned then and gave his will and dominion over to the devil Jesus took it back from him and gave man the ability to live beyond the grave. The human spirit is the actual person and the human spirit is able to exist out side of the body. However only those that believe in the Lord Jesus are "born again." This means that anyone that is willing to except God shall inherit all goodness and live eternally in the goodness and love of God. Those that reject this and retain the sins of themselves or others shall remain those sins and cast out of the presence of God forever. Hell is in fact a place reserved only for evil and nothing good will remain there.
