| Welcome to the sixth year first edition of the Lighthouse News of Halo. As it is the beginning of the year I want to talkeabout becoming new again. Let's take for example a teddy bear that's been loved by a child. Remember holding that teddy bear? Chewing on its ear? Loving it until one of the eyes popped out? Even then you still loved it! The ribbon around its neck had fallen off long ago, but that didn't matter. That's when you become real. Then someone comes along and takes the teddy bear, washes and cleanrs him, fixes his eye and gives him a new ribbon around his neck. They may even put some baby powder on him for that fresh scent. Oh what a joy! Our lives are like that. We have a choice to be the victor or the victim. We can succumb to the dangerous environment, preservatives, atmospheric poisons, pesticides, chemicals, the battle scars, the abuse, drugs, doctors, depression, etc. or we can become victorious. It takes just one step at a time...baby steps at first then we graduate to larger steps and before you know it, we're running. Take Control If we were never depressed, we would not be alive- only physical non-living things don't get depressed. If humans were not capable of depression, we would not be capable of happiness or excitement. Some things were meant to depress us such as death and things related to death. It's a matter of how long and how deep we're depressed. When you examine yourself, take in to account your capacity for depression. Depression tends to turn us away from doing the ordinary things of life. In doing little things we find inspiration and that is taking control against depression. We must take these baby steps to find inspiration. If, however, we do little things just to fight depression we will only deepen our despair. | vanishes. As soon as we arise, we enter a higher pleateau in life. Try it! Listen and do the little things again. Eat Right Be Right In today's society we often don't eat the proper nutrients that the body needs in order to function properly. We need to eat plenty of fruits and vegetables. We need water because our bodies are made of 70% water; our bodies dehydrate without replenishing water. Sodas are not water and dehydrate our system. Clean water is best. Flavor it a little with lemon. Vitamin therapy is necessary for good mental health. 1000 mg. of nicinamide (this helps counter act mental disturbances) 800 I.U. of vitamin E taken with foods high in vitamin E (for better absorption), 400 I.U. of vitamin D, 8000 mg. of vitamin A, 3000 mg. of vitamin C and sublingual vitamin B 12 (which really has some of the other B vitamins also. Sublingual vitamin B 12 gets into the body quicker and more of the vitamin actually reaches the body.) And 500 mg. of cal-mag. (calcium and magnesium carbonate to make vitamin C more effective.) Watch what you eat. You may need to avoid sugar, caffeine, coffee and cokes (sodas). Try being off one week and if you feel better, then those items may be interfering with your system. Avoid them! Start an exercise program. A simple one like walking around the block. Every day increase the area that you cover and keep a chart how far you've gone. Soon you will notice your improvement and you're feeling better and sleeping better - the deep sleep your body needs to function. Some people that don't get much sunlight or indoors mostly may also need light therapy. More on this later. Regain your mental alertness. Achieve your goals. Gain a clearer state of mind. Be energetic and full of life. Increase your spiritual vitality. Start the year right, get rid of the cobwebs in your body. Eat right! What if... What ifs are those feelings and thoughts we have about something that may happen. Most of the time they never happen and then the times that they do |
