this week's lyrics: "Oh Idyllwild" - by the girls of room 802 [sung to the tune of "Oh Danny Boy"]

Pierson Hall... our dorm

My two roommates Jennifer and Paula started writing this song for no apparent reason, and we decided to finish it... it makes fun of our experiences at camp, from the time the heater went on in our dorm when it was like 96F... to the big fuss about Eric Whitacre, and the gay tenors, and the bad food, and the dryest summer we'd ever seen... yeah, well, read and enjoy. =)

Oh Idyllwild, the coaches, the coaches are calling
from steep hillside to steep hillside and down the friggin steep hillside
The waters gone, and all the plants are dying
Notes flow through the trees, followed by swarms of bees
But come ye back, cause you got a scholarship and got in for cheap
And when the valleys not *gasp* dry, well be here with all the gay tenors
frolicking in the makeout meadows [or Mylums dorm room]

And when you come to hear a good performance,
all youll get are tenors that are off key,
and the sopranos are flirting with the basses [and the 6 straight tenors]
and the altos look all dead
And we shall see the legendary Eric Whitacre
if hes not poisoned by the cafeteria eggs
and all the singers will melt before his presence
but we wont sleep in peace cause the dorm rooms are too hot

Oh Idyllwild, oh Idyllwild, we love you so!

hehe... now that you've had fun with that, where do you want to go?
